We stayed here during Christmas break, the location fantastic, the views phenomenal. This was our 4th visit, the last few were great, other than having to evacuate the hotel one morning due to a fire in the elevator.
This visit was quite different and disappointing. To start, we tried to park in the covered parking and the garage door nearly dropped on top of our car. They had to come work on the door in order for us to move into the garage...to find no parking spaces. The garage was full our entire stay. Mind you this is a ski resort and we were paying to stay on the hill.
Next misstep, they brought in a roll away, however it didn't have any sheets. Not a big deal, a guy with his ball cap cocked to the side, came back later to roll it out the door, make it up and roll it back in. Not very professional.
The temperatures on the mountain were cold, it was about 8 degrees each morning. Sadly, the furnace in our room quit working during the first night. Needless to say it was freezing! The next morning a guy came to fix it, but was called away and left us a temporary portable heater. I called to ask the status of the furnace, and said they would get back to me. Never did hear back. SInce the furnace wasn't working there was no recirculating air in the room (2 adults 2 teens and wet ski gear...), so we were forced to keep the window open. The small heater couldn't keep up with the 8 degrees, so it was again freezing. We had to go into the hallway to warm up.
So maybe a nice warm hot tub would help, right? Not if they are half empty or being cleaned and therefore cold. We never even got a chance to use them.
One night the toilet just broke. We called to report it broken and leaking, so they sent up a plunger. Wrong problem, it was broken and required a plumber to replace the guts of the toilet. After a few hours of a plumber in our room, it was finally fixed, but left a huge mess of wet towels and black toilet fixing gunk on the toilet, floor and in the shower. When the manager came to apologize, with a leftover gift basket from some event, she saw the mess and sent someone to clean it up. It was about 10pm by now and the cleaners had gone home, so the person that came really didn't want to be there and did a terrible job.
I inadvertently misplaced an envelope of pictures at the hotel. I called them three times about it, finally a week later, they were found. I was so relieved, however it is now 21 days since that call and I have not received them. I even told them they could charge the postage to my card on file. I called to ask if anyone knew where they were and got the runaround that the gal sending them to me is 'kinda weird', but I should have them in a few days. We'll see.
So to end a long gripe, we were really disappointed with our stay, we spent a ton of money in their restaurants, shops, lift tickets, etc. not to mention precious vacation time with our kids. I wish they would have at least acknowledged their feedback form they sent to us that we immediately filled in and emailed back. Bottom line, unprofessional and poor customer service...property seems to be worn, tired and breaking down.
Did I mention they didn't have any complimentary toothbrushes?
