“Foundation for good memories!!”
Reviewed 29 November 2013

I have tried several times to sit down and write a review, and all I can do is gush well over 200 words. This is a quality place, designed and run by two of the kindest, and most interesting people. The Schweitzer Bed and Breakfast is the end result of two physicists' (nuclear engineers by trade) answer to any ski lodging problem you can think of; fabulous mud room, radiant heat flooring, hot tub and super comfy beds. Of course, you get a gourmet breakfast to set you up for a successful day of skiing.
Mel and Marsh are incredibly gracious and we feel confident in say they have become dear friends--they even joined our wedding celebration. If you are looking for a foundation to build a memory-making trip, this is the best place to start.

Room Tip: Tell Mel and Marsha a bit about you, and they will match your room to your vacation goals

The Bed & Breakfast has 5 beautiful rooms, each with a private bath. Our group took up 3 of the 5 rooms.
The remainder of the B&B is also very warm & inviting, including the huge kitchen, which you can use to make dinners or lunch or ??? The accomodations and hospitality were much more than we expected.
Located above Schweitzer village and ski area, the views are spectacular.
Hosts provided a delicious hot breakfast each morning complete with Coffee, Tea, Juices.
Very personable hosts, took us out for the 1st ski run of the day to show us what lifts to take, trails to try and which ones to stay away from. It was unexpected, but we were all very grateful to have had the guidance.
Ski in Ski Out - Ski down to the village to catch the lifts. Trail back to condo area runs right behind the B&B, once you make the turn to the building, you have to walk 50 - 100 feet.

Probably the best places I've ever stayed, Certainly the nicest surprise.

Photos are pre remodel and don't do the place justice. Warm, inviting and friendly are the chalet and gracious hosts. They were also very accommodating and helpful with possible activities in the area.

Ski in and out is a little challenging as is finding the place. I would break down early and go by the directions emailed to you.

The setting is spectacular. Four stories perched high up on the mountain, looking down into the ski village and half way up on the side of the slopes. Truly in the treetops,

The have a variety of rooms and suites. A rec-room with games and pool table. A huge glassed in patio area with huge hot tub and gleaming kitchen that looks out to the view.

The interior is modern, beautiful, warm, with state of the art with in-floor heating It has been extensively renovated and filled with antiques including a restored Steinway Grand with some sort of player piano function. Nice and varied common spaces, some garage spaces.

Marsha and Bill were great. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Did I mention the gourmet breakfasts? The engaging conversation will make you miss first lift. Well worth it.

We had a wonderful time staying at this B&B located right on the mountain and enjoyed 8" of powder. Ski in and out right from the front door. We stayed in the Timber Room which had the biggest, most comfortable bed, and had a wall of windows that looked out to the ski hill. Breakfasts were abundant and served buffet style. The hosts made our trip a vacation to remember with all their interesting conversations and taking us to all their favorite tree skiing areas. Once we arrived we didn't want to leave and ended up making quick dinners in their kitchen. Jay and Eileen.
