“Cozy Little Cabins, Big Home Feeling!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 March 2013

We were so lucky to have stopped here. We found it while walking across America, on The Great American Walkabout. We were so surprised!

They have several lovely cabins available, in one and two bedrooms. The rooms were decorated in a comfortable home away from home style. Most of the traffic in the area is from fishermen and adventure travelers, so the rooms are decorated in that style. The beds are big and comfortable, the cabins feature a full kitchen, and clean bathrooms. The couch pulls out if necessary, and there is a porch out front for relaxing. We met one of the owners, Michele, who gave us a great rate and even made us breakfast in the morning. The other owner, Jake, we didn't meet, but he has a reputation for being a really nice guy!. We were so happy to have stayed here, we would come back again!

Room Tip: Tell them The Great American Walkabout sent you!

Stayed again, just as satisfied.

These are a collection of modern cabins (we stayed in one of the smaller ones). They are very cozy, modern, well-made and well-furnished, immaculate.

Swan Valley is a understatedly gorgeous area. We were again passing through fairly quickly, but did have time to do some minor hiking around the nearby falls.

Why fight for the tiny room and high rates of fancy resort cities like Jackson, when you can have a wonderful, clean cabin in a peaceful setting? Our cabin was spacious, tastefully furnished, homey, and clean. The small-town atmosphere of Swan Valley with it's nearby attractions makes Sleepy J Cabins the perfect base camp for a vacation in the region. The Sleepy J is a family-run business whose owners go out of the way to make guests feel welcomed. From the comfortable bed and quiet room to the special attention given us by our friendly host, our stay will always be remembered.

Room Tip: Be ready to snap a sunset photo on the lovely surrounding hills.

My wife and I stayed here in September of 2010 and absolutely loved this place. The owner is a lady who grew up here, and is a book of information about local sights. There is a good eatery just a short walk down the road, and the scenic beauty of the valley lures you out into a long stroll to build up an appetite. The "cabins" are new and spotless, the location is wonderfully quiet, the air is fresh and clean, the rates are reasonable, and you are only a short drive from the Grand Tetons. What more could you want?

We stayed in one of the smaller cabins. The cabins are new, basically small houses. Sparkling clean, very comfortable: a bedroom, bathroom, and a front room with kitchenette. Swan Valley is a gorgeous setting, the cabins are on the owners' ranch. Upon check-in, they gave us a quick run-down of some nearby hikes, sights, and places to eat. I would love to come back again when we have more time to explore this beautiful area.

Our visit was during the summer, but the cabins look like they'd be quite cozy in winter as well. I thought the value was excellent.

We stayed at Sleepy J cabins on the last 2 nights of our trip to Yellowstone. The cabins are about a 45 minute drive from Jackson WY but are so worth the trip. The drive through the Teton Pass is impressive. These cabins or "little houses" were the accomodation highlight of our trip. They are immaculately maintained offering nearly 4 star accomodations in a very rural setting. We will be back again!

We had no clue what to expect since the only things we knew of this place were the previous reviews, and since it was the final stay of our 10 day motorcycle trip we wanted it to be better than a run down tiny house with nothing in it.

Thankfully we received the opposite.

We booked this stay several months in advance and actually changed our total vacation around so we could stay here. We wanted to stay here our 1st night and they were booked so we did our trip backwards.

But when we attempted to check in they couldn't find our reservation. So needless to say I got very upset due to they were full and there is nothing for miles and miles. Come to find out it was only her second day and didn't look for the correct last name. But we got checked in and all was good.

She also told us the cabins had air conditioning, which we were looking so forward to since we'd just spent all day on a motorcycle in over 100* weather. But again, she just needed to actually see the cabins and she would have known that they don't have air conditioning, but they did have ceiling fans.

The cabin we had was a 2 bedroom and it was pretty comfy. It had 1 queen bed in each room, 1 full bathroom, a kitchen, stove, and any and all utinsels you'd need. It also had a large sofa that was pretty comfortable and relaxing. there was a tv and dvd player with satellite so there were more channels than anyone needed, but we never even turned it on.

We'd highly recommend it when it's a little cooler, and I'd definately stay there again.

  • Disliked — no air conditioning
