We loved this villa- it suited us down to the ground. Spacious, remote and private. The balcony overlooking an uninterrupted sea view facing west filled hours of sitting and watching and enjoying fabulous sunsets.
The villa was well equipped and well presented and nearby fish restaurants lived up to expectation. You will need a car to visit local villages, nearby beaches and the nearest town of Kissamos. We had a fantastic week.
Well, if you are sick and tired of crowds around you, this is definitely for you. Let's assume, you live in a house where everything is set up according to you needs. And you would like to take this house to your vacation trip. You don't want to spend this precious time in a tiny hotel room. Then you have a choice. You can pay more for the room for "just married" with pink walls. Or you can go to Villa Tranquila, Sfinari, Crete. And relax completely in this comfortable house, made with some bit of good taste. The place is unique, because you have both possibilities - you can spend as much time as you want alone or you can walk 200 metres and find yourself among friendly people of the village with tidy taverns. The meal is fresh and tasty. There is no crowd on the beach. If you walk there you have additional exotics with some sheep and goats watching at you through fences, but no bad smell.
If some small problems arise, it can be easily solved with the owner by means of whatsup. Yes, it's better to rent a car to enjoy picturesque serpentine road along the shore to Elafonissi.
And I forgot wonderful sunsets, sorry...
Stocked up on route from the airport and then enjoyed an escape from the usual holiday crowds. We came 'home' every day for the Superb sunset on the terrace experience. Locals very welcoming . The property is Clearly owned by a 'foodie' with cook books to entice as well as good sized pans, a selection of herbs and spices and and decent knives and a table to entertain at ! . Local eatery by the beach friendly though with limited menu this early in the season . The mountain drive might be a bit adventurous for some but worth steeling your nerves for stunning views ( it's on the coast route to Elafinisi) the local beach is worth staying around for as is the nearby Falassarna. Guy responded promptly to the couple of questions we had whilst there.
The balcony frames the most wonderful view of the sea. The setting is quiet, Sfinari is quiet, and the tavernas on the beach are high quality. A wonderful place to relax and watch the sun going down.
Villa Tranquila is a lovely, calm and relaxing place. The Villa is well furnished - tastefully modern Greek style. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom is totally new and the beds are comfortable. But the best is the georgous view about the voe of Sfinari. If you want to swim you better bring proper foot wear with you because the beach is stony. The Villa is a good starting point for trips along the westcoast. There are a few possibilities for shopping food stuff in Sfinari but the next place called Platanos is less than a ten minutes ride away and there you get anything you need. And every evening the terrace of Villa Tranquile was our favorite for the georgous sunset!

A marvelous place to relax. Very well furnished with lots of space and a great view. We felt in love with the bath tub and the veranda facing the sea. Great for a retreat from busy city live. Guy was a friendly host and every evening we were happy to return to his beautiful villa where we felt sort of at home.
A lovely , unusual little house in a stunning location. The large west-facing terrace is a great place to sit for meals or just to relax and enjoy the sea view and watch the sun go down.
The house is modern inside, with a good bathroom with powerful shower and plenty of hot water. The beds were rather firm, but comfortable enough. We slept well.
Sfinari is a charming, quiet village about 20 minutes drive from Kissamos and is delightfully unspoilt. However, it's by no means untouched by tourism and has a good selection of small tavernas all within easy reach of the villa (many within easy walking distance). The three tavernas on Sfinari beach are especially lovely, in particular the one at the far end of the beach, the Sunset Taverna.
The villa makes a great base for exploring this unspoilt corner of western Crete. We had some memorable walking around the eco-village of Malia, in the gorges of Topolia, Sirikari and Agia Irini and around the huge beach at Elafonisi.
There is a good mobile data signal in Sfinari so, it's easy to stay in touch by email. All our emailed queries were very quickly answered by the friendly owner during our stay.
