Not large, but not cozy to the point of seeming crowded, Headwaters Grille provided a relaxed and congenial atmosphere. The staff is competent, knowledgeable, and friendly but discrete. The menu offers carefully selected options across a broda range of choices - steaks, fish, chicken, and vegetarian fare. Plenty to choose from but not overwhelming. All of our choices were excellent - honest, good cooking, not "enhanced" by exotic, weird-named sauces concocted by a frustrated pharmacist turned chef. Being from NC, I felt compelled to find out what kind of crab cakes come from a land-locked WY, 1000 miles from the sea. They were superb! Slightly crisp on the outside and succulent after a slight crunch. There is a secret ingredient i am foresworn not to divulge (not cactus juice or soy, etc.) The rack of lamb, seared on the outside, pink and juicy on the inside, was enough for two of us. The vegetables were, well, fresh, simply tasty vegetables. The wine list reflected the same careful attention as did the menu and was uncluttered. The focus was on offering an appropriate range of choices relative to the menu, and was entirely satisfactory. The dessert menu looked interesting, but I was ready for a happy little nap!
