“Great Food... horrendous service!”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

Live locally... dine/visit frequently. First off the food is outstanding. Fresh, creative, yummy and a good deal for the price.
As mentioned by another reviewer... the service is too embarrassing to bring guests/visitors. Eggs over medium... sorry, only over hard. Can you hold the Hollandaise sauce or put it on the side... nope, sorry.
Friends/buddies served before others that were there waiting...
Drove w/ friends in two separate cars and arrived well before closing. They got there first and we arrived less than 5 min later; they were seated and fed, we weren't allowed to join them (they were house guests visiting us from out of town!)
Open til 9pm on sign... not busy, so they turned away customers at 7:35pm for dinner.
I can go on and on and on...
Great food, laughable service.
Don't expect any smiles or service and the food is great. I might just start holding the tip... after all the waitress is an owner.

“Disappointing...”
Reviewed 18 June 2013

We are local to the area and often have guests. During a family visit, we brought them to Scratch as their food is quite good. After our dining experience, I was embarrassed to have suggested the restaurant at all. After 20 minutes we had to ask to get our order taken, they weren't able to leave cheese off an entree, wouldn't split the bill and so on. The waitress was unapologetic and even annoyed when we asked for something. Go to this restaurant with low expectations on service.

“Best food, quality and price in Teton Valley!”
Reviewed 8 June 2013

If you are looking for Chili's or some other chain restaurant, you are not going to find it here. Go in, order the pepper dip, the carolina with jalapeno cornbread and you will be happy you took the time to let someone cook a quality homestyle meal and all you had to is ENJOY!
The owners are great, but they're busy, let them cook and serve you. There is not much food to choose from around here, but this is worth the stop.

“Great place.”
Reviewed 4 May 2013 via mobile

We loved the food and watching them cook it. The music and the low key vibe put this restaurant over the top. We will be back.

“Awesome”
Reviewed 8 March 2013

I've been here several times since moving to Victor a couple months ago and wish there was a clone across the pass in Jackson. It's an excellent value and what your body craves after a long day skiing or outdoors. If there's a museum of human foods in the universe, scratch owns the cornbread category. Get the larger size side if you don't want to live with regret for the rest of the week. As others have said, sometimes there can be a decent wait before you get your meal, but that's because there's only two or three people behind the counter. In reference to nylhsa's review, I could see where certain people could be put off if they're expecting a certain brand of restaurant experience. In my opinion, its a no-nonsense place that's focused on the food, which is of excellent quality, and the atmosphere doesn't detract from the eating. May not be an ideal place for a vegetarian, as the strongest offerings are southernish-style meat and fish dishes. Can't wait to check out their breakfast.
