Can't go wrong here. Food is consistent and delicious. Our out-of-town guests always want on a trip to Portillo's while they are here.

Portillos has really good burgers, ribs and salads. But honestly, it's like going into a decorated school Cafeteria during lunch time when dining in. There's Commotion, chaos and confusion when trying to order.
Suggestion: Use the drive through if you want a stress free meal from this place!

I grew up near the first Portillo's hotdog stand. Everytime I go there it is like a trip down memory lane. I get the hotdog minus peppers, and pickels plus cucumbers. yummy and it makes me happy

These guys have got the recipe for good service and good food with a big selection. It is noisy inside and outside the drive thru lines can be long but both are fast and even when busy the quality does not suffer. It's a "sure thing" when it comes to food.

I had never been to a Portillo's before, though I have had the food. First take: it's an assembly line: people taking your order on the back of Portillo's white bags, almost before you get in line, moving you to the cash registers almost before you have a chance to check the menu on the signs. It's like the "autobahn" of fast food restaurants. In fact, if it's your first time, don't get in line; stand off to the side and check the menu. Once you order and pay, you get a number. Then you realize that the place is loud--numbers being called over a loudspeaker. They seem to prepare it quickly, and the next thing you know you're off to find a table when you realize that you've forgotten napkins and forks. But after you've been there once, you understand the drill.

Then there's the food--we ordered just Italian beef and a chopped salad. They have the Italian beef formula down, and it is good--good size, good amount of beef, good taste. And the chopped salad is great: chopped lettuce, tomato, cubes of chicken, green onion, ditalini pasta, and some other veggies (reminded me of Maggiano's chopped salad). Standard soft drinks, milk shakes, and a beer list that includes two varieties of Miller. My sister says the chocolate cake is the best--she didn't dare eat it. Price: Beef-4.85 and salad--7.35. Yes, Portillo's has its limitations--it's fast food, serve yourself, lots of families, and noisy. But if you want your food fast and good--no romantic atmosphere here--hey, it's worth it. Next time we're visiting the area, we'll check out the hot dogs and Italian sausage. We've set the date already. We'll be back.
