Sam at the front desk was very nice at check in, efficient. The plastic toilet handle broke the first time it was used. Sam came down and fixed it, he was prompt and very nice. The room was not properly vacuumed as there was very noticeable dust and dirt 2 to 3 inches from the wall, sorry, that's an immediate turn off for me. Detail cleaning makes or breaks a hotel in my opinion,no matter the caliber of the hotel. The bed skirt had something on it, I don't even want to go there! During the night the toilet broke again and water was spurting all over. Thankfully my sister and I are handy and we were able to re-attach the flush tube and clean up the mess. The hotel is unbelievable noisy. We were on the first floor and simple walking was amplified terribly. Chalk up no sleep! The next morning I met with Janelle the front desk clerk who needs training. I told her about the toilet and the noise and she said Sam will be in at 10am. I had to be to a competition at 9:30am so that was not going to work. How about something like this; Gee, I am really sorry about your experience last night, let me take you name and phone number and when Sam gets in I will have him call you. What truly bothers me is that my visit was for a state dance competition and while I did not check the prices on other dates, my total bill was almost $142.00. that is outrageous for Bloomington and clearly an up-charge.
