“Great two bedroom two story UNBELIEVABLY beautiful room”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 via mobile

We stayed here in June 2013 as we come to Bloomington every year for special Olympic competitions which is a VERY busy time in the city and just left this years room which had the kids saying..couldn't we stay where we stayed last year? So if a seven year old remembered this hotel that is amazing. The room was more like a family sized condo..upstairs bedroom with a separate bathroom area and huge closet. Downstairs we had living room, kitchen and open bedroom area. There are separate buildings and you have to walk through a nicely landscaped area with a gazebo; However if you have a newborn in a stroller in rainstorm, it was more of. Hassle to drive to the lobby building for the breakfast. My daughter also had to study for a teacher praxis exam and I was helping her study in the foyer as the lobby was in a separate building.
Don't let that stop you as it's great place to stay in Bloomington-Normal. One of the BEST hotels in Blooming-Normal. Book Early!

My husband and I just returned from our second stay at the Eastland Suites in Bloomington. On our first visit we stayed in the king suite with loft. This time we were in a one bedroom king suite in Building 9 which was perfect for us. There have been quite a few renovations since our first stay in November, 2012, and all for the better. The breakfast room, lobby and lounge have been redecorated and are comfortable and attractive. The breakfast options have improved and include eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, cereal, rolls and fresh fruit.

Our room was clean and comfortable. It was well appointed, though there were a few kitchen necessities missing, like a cutting board and soup spoons. The kitchen is tiny, and I wouldn't want to cook a meal in it. But, for microwaving, snacks, etc., it is just fine. In the living area an easy chair in addition to the sofa would have made it perfect. There is a desk and two large flat screen TV's and a gas fireplace.

The vanity area was separate from the bedroom which worked very well for us. One person could still sleep while the other showered, shaved, etc. The tub/shower and toilet were closed off from the vanity area. The arrangement was great. A few more hangers would have been welcome.

There was a small patio behind our room and, since we faced an open field, it was nice to sit out there for a quiet drink at the end of the day. Had we wished, we could have joined the manager's reception for drinks and snacks.

The central courtyard has been re-landscaped and is very attractive with a gazebo and a brook running through it. The flowering crap apple trees were in bloom during our stay, and it was beautiful.

The bed was comfortable though a bit firm for our taste. Pillows were plentiful and an extra blanket was provided. The towels were simple but large and well stocked. Provided toiletries were nice though the second bar of soap was missing.

All of the improvements to the hotel have been a great success. The Eastland Suites will be our hotel of choice every time we visit Bloomington.

Room Tip: If staying in Building 9, ask for room away from parking lot.

My mother and I have stayed at Eastland several times over the last few months for various eye surgeries she's had at the eye clinic nearby. Each time, they've been extremely helpful and accommodating to our needs. We've stayed in the studio king suites each time, as they are pet-friendly and we have small dogs along for the ride. The rooms are very nice, the beds are extremely comfortable, and it's so convenient to have a kitchen in the room. I continue to be impressed each time we return (we're heading back for her last surgery next week!), and we'll definitely always stay there if we need a room in the area. Thanks for the great experience Eastland!

Room Tip: If you're bringing pets, just make sure you double-check which rooms are pet-friendly :)

This was the perfect set up for a weekend with some college friends. We opted to get the suite which has 2 king sized beds, a pull out couch, 2 full baths, a partially stocked kitchen, and a balcony. Everything was clean, and we did not have an issue with the fact that we had to leave our building to go to Happy Hour in the main building and then breakfast in the morning. Our building had a nice path connecting to the main area, and in between was a beautiful pergola that we enjoyed our drinks under. There were several small children's birthday parties going on around us and we did not hear a thing and were not bothered by kids running up and down the hall. Very quiet. There are also grilling areas between the buildings if that is of interest to you. We also made use of the hotel limo to take us into town for dinner, and Mike at the front desk was very helpful!

Room Tip: Ask for a building close to the lobby for a shorter walk to the breakfast.

This hotel is good for people planning on long extended trips where you need a living room and kitchenette. If you plan on a 3-4 day stay, I would rather stay elsewhere. To get to the breakfast room, I had to leave the building, get in my car and drive to the main bldg. they don't even have a nice walkway connecting the buildings. The exercise room is a joke. There is no restaurant or bar on site. The rooms look better in the pictures on the internet - the couch is very firm and so is the bed. Staff is very friendly. If you want a room with a living area and a fireplace and kitchenette, this is your place. If you don't plan on cooking and you don't care about a separate living area, go somewhere else.

Met up with college girlfriends this past weekend and the location is great - central for our needs. The loft suites are spacious for 4-5 people and having a full-sized fridge worked out great for beverages, food, ice. The whole place -- and the especially the bathrooms-- was clean and updated, the grounds were kept clean (no trash) and there are grills and decks to hang out on (if the weather permitted). Location great to shopping, ISU/Wesleyan for concerts and plenty of parking if you are having a guest visiting

The only so-sos for the trip were: not enough room in the communal breakfast area to negotiate or sit. The cocktails and snacks (bar mix) were ok -- I would suggest a few types of beers (bud light was the only option) and wine -- no hard liquor. Also, have a few DVD players to check out for kids (or adults that want to watch a movie). A shade over the semi-circle window would be nice, too.

Made reservations for same night while riding in car. Person who helped book us was great. Got loft suite for 3 people and 1 dog. Place large and clean. Only complaint is no window covering over the bed in loft so room sunny at crack of dawn. Breakfast just average. Waffle iron broken. We were only ones eating and instead of asking if we were done or if we wanted more food they just come in and put everything away. Poor customer service from that standpoint.
