Spent yesterday morning at the zoo and had a great time. The grounds looked wonderful with all the flowers and plantings. I thought the staff was very nice but then they may have been especially welcoming because we started the day at the Members Breakfast. Walking around later, we had on our Member badges and were greeted several times by staff members and thanked for our support. We rode the Carousel, visited the Butterfly House and hiked around to see our favorites: the big cats, the dolphins, the bears and the wolf pack. For families living in the area, I'd recommend they check out the membership packages. They may find a yearly family pass is a better deal than paying for one time admissions, all the added attraction fees and parking. Then they can visit several times a year and attend some of the special events. Another way to save is to pack a picnic lunch. There are many nice areas for sitting and relaxing. Kids will love the playgrounds.

Brookfield Zoo has late night weekend hours for the summer! My granddaughters and I went on a Friday night. Unfortunately many and I mean many of the attractions were closed after 5 pm which put a damper on our trip. We love this zoo though! We try to visit at least six times a year and make sure we are there for the Boo at the Zoo and the Christmas lights each year. The girls love to eat dinner and play at the playground area each visit. The $12.95 refillable all year sodapop cup is also a great deal when everyone is sharing the cup. We never miss the Hamill Play Station or the Wolf/Bear attraction. It is always fun to see the peacocks roaming around too.

Great zoo. Gorgeous grounds. Wonderful exhibits and animal enclosures. Knowledgeable staff. Good eating areas and finally, great kids areas.

Not far outside of the city, but well worth the trip -really a great attraction that should be visited.

My wife and I went last week with two of my cousins and their families. We had a wonderful time. It cost ~$25/pp and $10/car but had a wonderful afternoon. The auto safari is not worth buying. It only has four stops and in not very convenient. The dolphin and butterflies were great!

Great day at the zoo. Don't forget to budget for parking. The zoo is really big, we didn't get to everything in 6 houts. Food and beverage selections are plentiful and good. Pleasantly surprised to be able to buy beer. The Dolphin show was outstanding, the stingray experience was great. Should have listened to other reviews about avoiding the tram. They just don't have an efficient system. A day can be very reasonable if you just choose general admission without the add-ons. Hope to return soon!
