Travelled all the way from Australia and arrived on the Sunday night only to be greeted by the owner who seemed to be more interested in reading his papers than asking us if we had a good trip or if we were okay. We felt as if we were disturbing him from whatever he was doing and when we spoke to him alll we got were one word answers. The pub was nice as were the rooms but I thought the bathroom lacked a little, for example a hook to hang your towel would have been good. According to the locals if we had started talking about classic cars then Nigel would have more cooperative and would have talked the ears off us. Met his wife(she was actually working hard doing the rooms) and she was very pleasant. The location was excellant for us as we needed to be close to East Hoathley. Sorry Nigel but you were the only negative thing about the pub.
