We booked a night at The Grove to finish off our "mini-moon" and it was really lovely. We booked a dinner, bed and breakfast package and had the signature menu. The staff were all really attentive and the whole place was laid back as well as being professional. The food was out of this world and we had a wonderful time. Thank you to everyone at The Grove!

Booked online , which was straightforward.
Rang hotel on morning of arrival to confirm check in and book dinner time, the receptionist was extremely pleasant and checked our likes and dislikes for dinner.
Spent the morning in Narberth, which is a beautiful little town, and there is easy access to many attractions and walks.
Hotel is very secluded, but well signposted so easy to find.
We were greeted warmly by reception staff and shown around the hotel. There are several small comfy lounges and a library to relax in, as well as a small bar, and outside patio, and also games and DVDs to borrow. Our room was clean and beautifully decorated with a lovely bathroom. The bed was comfy. The whole hotel is immaculate, and has clearly been renovated with care and attention to detail.
Dinner was excellent, we went for the a la carte menu, but there is also a 7 course taster menu.
It was a perfect place for our belated wedding anniversary celebration.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are planning to stay again in the winter.

A last minute decision on Sunday for us to spend a few days in West Wales led to a search of the internet and a call to The Grove to see if they could accommodate us. The lady who answered our initial call was extremely helpful and although they were very busy she promised to "see what she could do and call us back shortly". Within 15 minutes we received a call back and that they had a room available into which they could fit a z-bed for our daughter.

Upon arrival you are made to feel extremely welcome. The building has been beautifully restored to preserve the period features whilst also catering for the more modern needs of a luxury boutique hotel.

As we'd arrived late evening ( about 8.30pm ) we opted for dinner in their restaurant. Again the service was attentive and the food was excellent ( the a la carte option could be considered expensive at £54 per head but we are talking about fine dining so not extortionate ). The "little person" menu was extremely good value at £7 per course for the quality of the food on offer ( our daughter had the cod fillet and chips followed by the chocolate brownie ).

The room ( named "The Cwtch" ) lived up to its name and was very cosy, comfortable and very well presented. Unfortunately after having an unsettled night's sleep ( in no way attributable to the room or bed!! ) we were hoping for a lie-in, however the construction of the room was timber floorboards which sadly meant we had to endure the residents upstairs doing some kind of bathroom relay from about 6.30am. In any hotel with aspirations of total luxury you do need to be considerate to this and a timber based floor just isn't sufficient to guarantee the unfortunate ground-floor guests any kind of peaceful rest.

After breakfast we did speak to reception about this and without any hesitation we were transferred to another room for our second evening.

On the second evening we again opted to dine in The Grove's restaurant, however on this occasion thought we treat ourselves to their 7-course taster menu. The food on the taster menu was on-the-whole excellent however with any taster menu any one course review can be very much subjective to your own individual preference so it wouldn't be at all fair to comment on that basis. Overall the food was beautifully presented, very well balanced in its taste and served in a completely non-rushed manner. The chefs and owners have a clear focus on sourcing from local producers and ensuring sustainability for the local community.

Again on the second evening the "little person" food was fantastic value and of the highest quality. Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed her meal and dessert.

We had breakfast on both mornings and again the food was excellent and the choice extensive.

So what's prevented me from giving The Grove five stars!!!? Overall the service is excellent, the wine waiter is knowledgeable and friendly and worthy of particular mention, however the girl that served on both evenings ( and breakfast ) was somewhat robotic and not very engaging ( you need someone more engaging and with more personality in this role ). In addition in a boutique luxury small hotel you need to feel and see the presence of the owners/hosts doing the rounds in greeting their guests and making it abundantly clear that they are running the show. From our arrival to our departure I've no idea who Neil or Zoe were other than names on our welcome email.

Perhaps they were on holiday during our stay......we will certainly be returning so will hopefully write a five-star review second time around ( after a peaceful undisturbed lie-in as well! ).

A lovely hotel in a beautiful, secluded location. Rooms are beautifully done with extremely comfortable beds. Very friendly and helpful staff who noticed my husband struggled with stairs and kindly moved us to a ground floor cottage room on our second night. Breakfast was great, with perfect porridge. We didn't eat at the hotel but local friends tell us it is excellent. Tea and biscuits on arrival very welcome. There is a croquet lawn and a boules pitch and a nice outside seating area for drinks with a lovely view.

We stayed at the Grove during our honeymoon trip of the UK and Ireland! The Grove was my husbands favourite hotel - the room was luxurious, and the service was great! Would recommend the 7 course taster menu!

The Grove is a beautiful hotel. We stayed in the suites named Bramble and Elderflower and both were exceptional. The bed linen was of the highest quality and we all slept really well. The chocolates on arrival were particularly scrumptious! We are a very normal family who found the staff to be professional but not pretentious. The quality of food was excellent; we savoured every bite! Well worth the money if you fancy a treat.

Room Tip: We had a good look round and all were lovely.

We are delighted that you had an enjoyable stay in our Coach House Suites 'Bramble' and 'Elderflower'. These spacious rooms are ideal for both couples and families.

The delicious chocolates in the room on arrival are handmade by our local chocolaterie in the nearby town of Narberth. We highly recommend a visit!

We very much hope to welcome you all back again on your next family vacation to Pembrokeshire.
