Visited by the pope this is an oasis or sanctuary recalling where Peter made his confession of faith.
Beautiful green park and gardens and small church on the banks of the Sea of Galilee maker this a must for visitors.

This is a must see church on the Sea of Galilee. It’s peaceful and serene and leads directly to the sea. Absolutely visit here.

We visited this beautiful church in Tabgha while we were on a pilgrimage tour of Holy Land. According to the Catholic tradition, it is the place where Jesus reinstate St. Peter as chief among the apostles. A must visit place

This is a Roman Catholic church which commemorates the site where Jesus reinstates Peter as leader of the apostles laying ground for him to be the first Pope of the Catholic church.
Inside the church is a rock in front of the altar which according to tradition marks the area where Jesus made breakfast of bread and fish for the apostles and where he makes Peter the future leader of his church.
This is a holy site and many pilgrims come and touch the rock and pray.
The church is located very close to the shores of the Sea of Gallilee and one can easily walk behind the church and stand by the shores.

There is a small chapel and a mini amphitheater. Worth a look and a photo is the statue of st Peter and Jesus Christ as if being bestowed upon as the very first Pope. In fact it was visited by the Papal hierarchy.
