The Old Rectory Bed & Breakfast
Reviewed 21 August 2013

This is a beautiful house ... stunningly and lovingly renovated by architect owner and his wife. Lovely peaceful location. We loved the décor so much we are going to use the Blue Room Colours at our cottage, we hope to return as suggested to test the Green Room !

This is a real find, an interesting Church house rescued from dereliction by owners Jane and Steve, and made into comfortable stylish b and b accommodation . The owners really try to make you feel at home and breakfast is tailored to what you want, within reason of course. The place is in a peaceful village, with a few true country noises, and driving is a pleasure, though narrow roads enjoin care! Further, it is within easy reach of Pembroke's sandy beaches at Saundersfoot and Tenby and industrial history at Kilgetty. All the more impressive is that Jane and Steve have largely carried out the renovations themselves. What they've done with the garden is remarkable too.

We stayed at the old rectory for 4 nights from 29.7.13 to 1.8.13. It was excellent. Jane and Steve were excellent hosts. We stayed in the Blue Room with our little whippet Lola who slept in her cage. The room was exceptionally clean and the en suite was exceptionally clean too. The breakfasts were amazing including the homemade muesli.

We would recommend this b&b to anyone who wants that little bit of luxury who wants to take their pet with them. Steve and Jane make you feel really welcome and the tea and cake on arrival after a long journey is a real welcome before you start to explore. Would recommend to anyone - excellent

We stayed sadly for only 1 night here. This is a top quality B&B with complete attention to detail from a delightful welcome on arrival to a splendid breakfast on our departure. The room (Blue Room) was exceptionally well equipped, spotlessly clean (as was the whole house) and beautifully decorated. Everything to make a stay welcoming and comfortable was thought of including homemade dog biscuits for our 2 spaniels in the room - who also thought they had died and gone to heaven!
We could not recommend this B&B highly enough -just hope we get an excuse to stay here again

Room Tip: We stayed in the Blue Room, a double overlooking the front garden. But I believe any room here would...

Beautiful house, lovingly restored in a tranquil village setting. The standard of accommodation and hospitality was superb - the rooms were palatial and nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. An ideal spot for seeing the sights of Pembrokeshire and nearby Narberth has its attractions in terms of shops and a few good restaurants. Would return to this lovely house and thoroughly recommend it to others.

We spent three nights here last week. The house is warm and welcoming. A gorgeous sitting room with roaring fire (it was cold outside!) is available to guests, this is also where the dining table is located and where you can enjoy a lovely breakfast with home made bread and the most delicious home made muesli, as well of course, as a typical English breakfast.
We stayed in the Blue Room (dogs allowed in this room - he was welcomed by the hosts who have a dog of their own) which was spacious, south facing and overlooked the front of the house. Bed was very comfortable. There was also a spacious, newly fitted shower room with a fabulously powerful shower. Our hosts were very helpful and charming throughout our stay and I would strongly recommend this accommodation to anyone wishing to stay in this area. The nearby (10 minutes drive) small town of Narberth has a lot of nice shops, interiors, clothes, gifts that will suit the most discerning tastes, as well as several restaurants.
