“First class resort”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 November 2013

The resort is located in a splendid bay on the east coast. The place is beautiful, perfectly equipped (wireless, fitness, spa, pool, etc...) and the services are of very high quality. The only thing to know is that the place is somewhat remote so that one has to organise pretty much everything with the resort, which is usually very efficient but it has a cost...

The restaurant is very good; luckily since it is hard to find an alternative nearby.

The resort also proposes some tours "à la carte". This may be quite expensive but it is really worth it, and the provided local guides are highly professional.

Room Tip: The large rooms on the sea are really LARGE.

This is a great resort. Very well laid out. Clean and spacious rooms. Only 2 issues for me. First, this is more of a health resort. As such, the menu may not be to everyone's tastes. The food they serve is very good, but somethings you just want a steak or other less healthy meal. After all, you are on vacation! The other thing is it is on the Atlantic side of the island so no swimming/snorkling on the beach. The current is way too rough. But, you can schedule a trip to the Caribbean side for the day.

Rosalie Bay is pure perfection!! The room(oceanfront) was beautiful, spacious, and clean. The food was excellent! We brought our 4 year old daughter with and they even made special food for our picky little eater. :) We got to see a hawksbill turtle lay her eggs and some leatherback hatchlings take a journey to the sea.
The island is just so beautiful. The hikes were amazing. One of the highlights of our trip was spending time with the guides....Randell and Royston were great!!! Dominica is a very special place!!

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here, and it was picture perfect. The staff at the resort is incredibly friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant is excellent and not at all expensive for the quality. Our ocean view room was spacious and comfortable.

In our rush to leave for our honeymoon, we forgot to pack hiking shoes, but we were still able to hike Sari Sari Falls barefoot to the amusement of our guide. (I would not recommend the difficult hikes unless you are an avid hiker). We were lucky enough to see a majestic Leatherback lay eggs one night, and witness many baby Leatherbacks hatch throughout our stay. The turtle conservation program is really amazing and another element that made this vacation perfect. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway or an intense hiking adventure with a comfortable bed at the end of the day, this place has it all. I would definitely recommend Rosalie Bay to anyone who is looking for a resort without the "touristy" feel.

Room Tip: The ocean view rooms really are worth the extra $ for the view

We did not stay at Rosalie Bay, but had lunch there.
The resort is very attractive. It's on the Atlantic side of the island, so swimming would be dangerous. There is a pool.
Lunch was very good. Nice and well prepared seafood and a good wine selection.

My husband and I stayed for two nights at Rosalie Bay. We were able to see leatherback turtle hatchlings as well as a mother leatherback lay eggs late at night. The food at the restaurant was some of the best on the island! It was an amazing experience, and we can't wait to go back!

This eco-vacation setting is very different - an experience you will never forget. The resort is on the south side of the island where the Rosalie River meets Rosalie Bay and the ocean beyond. Get to know the owners - Bev & Oscar - and the purpose behind building the resort, preserving the land, and maintaining employment for the local community. We enjoyed fresh, organic meals at the restaurant on-site and talking with the chef - Seraphine. The staff arranged for different adventure hikes into the interior and neighboring villages and we greatly enjoyed our time with Zahir, our guide. Beyond the hikes, Zahir showed us fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices grown on the side of the road and in the forest. The entire staff was most accommodating and sincere in their efforts to make us feel comfortable.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the privacy of a one-bedroom cottage with a sitting room. The best part was both a front...
