Gino's is an old-time Chicago neighborhood bar that happens to serve tasty pizza. Unpretentious, with prices to match! It's a small place, which just makes it seem intimate and cozy. Staff is friendly and accommodating. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely stop by!

We stopped in after a play. The atmosphere is very warm and congenial. The bar looks like one of those pre-Prohibition bars, large, dark mahogany, with bottles displayed in front of mirrors. We grabbed a booth. They have booths along the wall opposite the bar which runs the length of the place. Each booth is semi-circular. We ordered the house wine in a carafe, Inglenook, a rather mediocre wine. Since glass is $4, which sounds great for Chicago, but its a small glass. Our group ordered a pizza. Service was good and efficient.

Can't believe this was supposed to be good. Crust was like cornbread and sausage was flattened into bottom of pizza. Had to throw it away.

This trip was our first time to Chicago & we highly anticipated having authentic deep dish pizza. It was a long train ride from where we were staying, but it was well worth it. So many people say they don't like deep dish because it has too much dough, but somehow Gino's makes theirs with the most flakey, light crust I've ever had the pleasure of eating. You definitely feel like a local here. No pretense whatsoever & the 40's decor is fabulous. It was smaller than I expected but that just lent itself to the homey atmosphere. The jukebox was pretty good too. I wish I was there right now!

NO relation to Chicagos famous GINOs Pizza, But this place ROCKS !! My FAV thin crust pizza on the north side. Peggy has been there for 30 years and she makes every pie herself. There are only 5 tables so sometimes there is a short wait.

For all of you in the neighborhood.......It's 5 doors down from the GRANVILLE ANVILLE
