“Excellent!”

Cafecito has the best Cuban sandwich I've ever tried. I also reccomend the Chimichurri sandwich and their coffee which is great. Everyone who visits Chicago should definitely stop by.

Cafecito has great coffee, sandwiches, pastries, cakes, and salads. We were in Chicago on our honeymoon and stopped by almost every day. Reasonably priced and service was great.

“CAFECITO ? YES -DEFINITELY!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 October 2013

Crowded little storefront in the heart of the loop.
Good Cuban coffee
Excellent pressed sandwiches (we sampled three - the regular Cuban was the best)
One of those places I wish we had where I live.

“Cafecito-Excellente”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 October 2013

The service was quick and friendly and the prices great. Food was good. I wish they were open at 7am on a Saturday since they are adjacent to the youth hostel...that seems silly of them to open at 10, but we went there on Friday at 7am. The Jardin, egg sandwich, coffee, and plaintain/banana/guava sandwiches were all very good. One block west of Michigan and Congress. You can Samba to the music. Neat place.

“The Essential Chicago Morning Coffee. El mejor.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 October 2013 via mobile

We're from a place where the people are serious coffee drinkers. S*bucks? Noooo, just a place where we enjoy freshly-ground, locally-grown coffee daily. So when we were visiting in Chicago, we were happy to find this great little place with excellent coffee and wonderful Cuban-style sandwiches. "Me quedé con las ganas" (I was unable to indulge my craving) for the frita cubana sandwich, because it wasn't available for breakfast, but I did love the egg, cheese and chorizo sandwich.

The coffee certainly didn't disappoint: hearty, fresh, flavorful. But if you drink it like we do, "puya" (with milk but no sugar)—remember to specify no sugar, because the default Cuban coffee is with sugar. A ton of it.
