“Nice place in trendy area of city”

My husband and I routinely stay at the Guest House-- enjoyed our third stay at this haven from frenetic city pace. Has gorgeous artistic decor, helpful staff, spotless room and is cheery / bright. We love the convenience to our son's Lincoln Park condo, and use public transportation to museums and Michigan Avenue. Favorite: all the good restaurants nearby to which we always walk. Our home away from home. (No meals served on site, no problem for us.)

Talk about a home away from home! This place is in a great neighborhood, right across the road from DePaul University. Great Lincoln Park vibe. The hostess is very very sweet and was very welcoming when we arrived. I expected just a typical B&B room. Was I wrong! We had an entire entry and living room to ourselves, as well as an upstairs coffee nook, bathroom and bedroom. The bedroom was decorated beautifully in a French design. Very very soft sheets, duvet, and pillows on the very fluffy bed. The foam topped bed sucked me right in and I slept the best I'd ever slept away from home. Nice touches like an in room white noise machine, Keurig coffee maker well stocked with top notch selections and creamers, iPod docking station, a desk with all kinds of information, free wi-fi, tons of reading material and a fridge stocked with water and juice. While there's no "breakfast" served, the hostess does leave granola bars and snacks to tide you over until you can get to one of the Lincoln Park breakfast spots such as Toast. We were really made to feel like family or friends... the hostess even gave us free parking passes for parking off Halsted street. It was Pride weekend when we went so it was pretty crowded and hard to find parking on Halsted (where it's free) but we found easy parking on nearby Belden street and the fact that this hostess thinks of getting parking passes for her guests is one of the nice touches. Other nice touches included drawers in the bathroom stocked with "just in case" toiletries, like a toothbrush, q-tips, sanitary products, toothpaste, and a first aid kit. Quality quality place and worth every penny if you want to get away from the rush and bustle of a typical Chicago hotel. Super close to the Park West music venue, which was our reason for coming to Chicago this trip. We will be staying again for sure!

The reviews are pretty exceptional, so we arrived with high expectations and were not disappointed. The common living area nicely decorated and very comfortable. The lux king bed w deep-foam topped mattress was superior, as were the fine linens. No meals served on site, but all the Keurig coffee and tea options we could possibly want and a few breakfast bars to hold us over until we went out for a full meal. Host very receptive to special requests and questions. Great, thoughtfully presented touches such as in-room Zagat restaurant guide, Chicago maps and various guidebooks, coffee-table books, up-to-date local magazines. Definitely recommend.

Room Tip: King suite was superb.

This is a marvelous place to stay. The host is very personable and accomodating and wants your stay to be perfect. My room was set with all the amenties one would hope for and the quality of the furnishings are aimed at comfort. the whole GH is clean and well decorated. You will have a very good sleep and wake to a generous choice of excellent coffees, which is a must for me.

Of course, the location couldn't be better. I wouldn't change a thing.

Owner/hostess Sharon Durling was very personable and made us feel like old friends. The atmosphere was very warm and eclectically charming. Our bed was really astonishingly comfortable. I regret not reading the mattress label and studying the assembly of bedding components in hopes of duplicating at home. Location is in a very scenic and upscale old neighborhood with lots of interesting shops and restaurants to explore within easy walking distance. One day we took an enjoyable and therapeutic stroll to the Lake Michigan shore and Lincoln Park Zoo. This small town/country couple truly had a fine time visiting the big city on our 31st Anniversary getaway with the Lincoln Park Guest House (see www.lpgh.info) as our base of operations., And we didn't have to put up with any big city rudeness at this establishment. Did I mention that from arrival till departure the hostess made us feel like old friends?

We were recently in Chicago for our son's graduation and needed a place to stay close to his apartment in Lincoln Park. This guest house was in a perfect location near wonderful restaurants and shops. The staff was very professional, friendly and accommodating to our schedule.

When you walked into the home there was a cozy living area. Upstairs, the bedroom was bright, cheerful and clean with an extremely comfortable king bed. There were snacks and a minifridge with juices and waters in the room and outside the room was a coffee station filled with an assortment of coffees and teas. The room was also supplied with a large selection of books and up-to-date magazines on Chicago. There was even a list of recommended restaurants, things to do and a detailed map.

The bathroom had all the usual amentities and then some hidden surprises like a drawer stocked with deoderant and other conveniences from home that you might have forgotten which came in very handy.

We're looking forward to another stay soon!

Wow--from the moment we walked in and unpacked, we felt right at home. The bed mattress was the most comfortable we have ever slept on, the room very nicely furnished and stocked with about every detail that we could possibly need. TV, sound machine, bright skylights, photo and tour guide books and maps of Chicago, clean rooms. We had a nice and welcoming host. We liked the location so much better than the major downtown hotel--dead center of a beautiful walkable neighborhood, very handy. We loved just rolling out the door to awesome restaurants, shopping, and the one-block walk to a subway line that took us downtown to the major museums and sights. I've re-booked to stay again for a fall convention.
