“views and fun but touristy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013

On a nice day, Navy Pier packs in a lot of the stuff people enjoy--views of the city from the pier that extends into the lake, checking out boats (large and small), some rides (the Ferris wheel has a tremendous view but is a little pricey for a short ride. Bring your camera.), snacks and open-air spots to have a drink as well as some nicer restaurants for dining, and even live music on summer weekends. But....it is crowded and some of this can feel quite touristy. If you enjoy art, however, go inside and see the exhibit of Louis Tiffany stained glass. And if you are enjoying the lakefront, continue on toward the north and walk the lakeshore to get to two beaches (oak street and North ave. beaches) which may also have live music on the weekend. You can also rent bikes and bicycle-cart/cars to transport several people with shade.

“to avoid crowds go early”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013

To catch our flight home we had to visit early in the day. It turned out to be great time to stroll & get photos w/o loads of tourists. This is a must see - The architecture alone is worth the visit. There are the obligatory gift shops, Children's Museum, restaurants, food court but the views of the immense lake and back at the city are worth a visit to Navy Pier.

“Very Lively and Entertaining Place”

I agree with most other reviewers and repeat what they said. Fantastic views, amazing crowds, lively entertainment. This is the perfect tourist destination for anyone visiting Chicago. The speedboat tours and the lake cruises are definitely worth the time

“A great place to go, especially on nights with fireworks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013

I did my homework before going there. Visit their website to see what is available and when it is available: www.navypier.com.
Also try to catch the trolley to get you there: http://www.navypier.com/visit_us/trolley.html - it's really fun.
Small food-court but enjoyable. Additional restaurants around, too. Many, many places to visit (some with fee, some are free).
A great place to take a boat for a ride.
