The restaurant is small, so that the noise is not oppressive in the smaller rooms. The menu is interesting with many choices of all courses. Because this is an Italian themed restaurant there is great pasta as a first course, and imaginative and tasty main dishes to follow. the fish entrees were excellent. Make no mistake this is an expensive restaurant, so sharing an appetizer, salad, and first course makes great sense for affordability, but the portions are ample, and you can only eat so much. the only course that did not seem worth the money was dessert. It was good, but not THAT good. If you are celebrating as a couple this is a great choice. Plan on a minimum of $125 per person with drinks, and something from three of the courses plus a main dish..

We were staying at the Raffaello and decided to eat nearby. The restaurant itself is very well appointed, and the service was excellent. I had fillet of sea bass , which tasted peculiar, and my wife veal chop which was very fat, and should have been trimmed. The wine list is extensive, but very expensive. Dinner for two came to nearly $200, with a glass of wine, appetizers and main course. No desert. The place was crowded and very noisy, but this was a Saturday night. Not the place to go to for a casual meal.

We had two meals at Pelago recently and both were stellar. From the greeting to the door it was first rate. We waited for friend at the bar and noted that the by the glass selection of wines were all top notch vintages and vineyards. The cocktails were well made and generous. The only off thing was that we had brought a bottle of Brunello di Montalcino from 2004 with us and the maite d was upset by this and insisted we turn over the bottle for inspection. I know that many restaurants will not let you bring in a bottle that they have in their cellar but this was a wine noton their list and itwas a $35 corkage charge.

Teri had the chicken neck garganelli and I had the half rabbit. The food was perfectly done and the rabbit was the best I have ever had. On our second visit I tried the pork stuffed with duck and it was equally good. Teri had the pasta special with black truffle and theyhad the sense to let the truffle speak rather than covering it with other flavors.

The bill came to over $300 each time but I feel that it was worth it for the quality and uniquity of the preparations. The second night we were recognized and there was none of the "Regal" attitude from the staff that we had experienced when we first came in. Definitely worth a visit but I would try the wine by the glass as it was a first rate list and the wine was alll at the proper temperature.

Pergola is the restaurant to experience an unforgettable Italian dinner. It's definitely a splurge. The pasta dishes are ethereal and the roasted whole black bass special was amazing.
