We visit Chinatown annually in the summer. Of all of our meals over the last several years, this was the best.

Clean, comfortable restaurant (good A/C on a 100 degree day!). Dim sum menu was very easy to navigate and understand so that we didn't end up with ingredients that we wished to avoid (like lamb intestines!). We were able to get a window table, which gave a nice view of the gate. The food was excellent. The service was attentive. Bathrooms were above average for Chinatown, which is significant for this area.

You know really good dim sum? The kind where you bite into the dumpling and you get an explosion of juice and flavor? Well, you won't find that here. The dim sum here is utter crap: sticky, dry and no flavor whatsoever. Maybe I am spoiled by my experiences in Hong Kong, but this place was sorely lacking in anything approaching authenticity. If you are reading this because you want an honest assessment from someone who has eaten Michelin star dim sum before, then consider this advice and keep looking. This place is not worth it.

Totally hit the spot for our dim sum craving. Triple Crown is a traditional dim sum parlor (reminds me of China Pearl back home in Boston) with a variety of carts, but they also will take orders for specific items. This helps with a big dim sum pet peeve of mine -- filling up before getting the items I want.

Tasty dumplings, properly greasy fried items, congee, steamed buns, and a few stray vegetables hiding here or there. Not unique or exceptional, but a very good representation of classic dim sum.

So nice to have late night options when craving Chinese,in most cities Chinese restaurants are the first to end their business day leaving Chinese food lovers frustrated and hungry! So that being said even mediocre Chinese food is good when available this late at night, this is even more true after a night of heavy partying.
In the case of Triple Crown the food though not spectacular came at the best time, and the different dim sum items we ordered went from quite good to so so.
The atmosphere at about a quarter to midnight was nice with mostly a few late night revelers (die-hard partiers to be out on a Thursday night for sure!) and a couple tables of budget conscious students probably sharing dishes. I must say the service was on point, and the young man who took our orders was unusually friendly for that late hour. Good service with a smile is always appreciated. Anyhow it might've not been the best Chinese meal I've had but boy would I give anything to have them around open late night in my hometown!
