“Exceptional Property, Step Ahead of Competitors”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2012

We recently completed a weekend stay at the JW Chicago. Overall a first class hotel that I would recommend to anyone. Location is not perfect but hotel itself compensates for this.

Pros:
Beautiful, large lobby
Large, expansive bathroom with full soaking tub and separate shower
First Class Staff
Several blocks to Red Line Train- best option to Wrigley

Cons:
Few nearby restaurant/bar options open on weekends
Sleeping Area of room felt a tad small

JW's are known for being among the Marriott famiy's best hotels, so I went in with pretty high expectations. Expectations met! Clean, classy room; big, elegant lobby; great service; just about everything you would expect. High marks for this hotel.

It is rare when the staff at a hotel makes the experience but it did on a recent stay at the JW Marriott. EVERYONE I encountered was accommodating, pleasant and went out of their way to make sure that we were satisfied. Desk staff, bar tenders, catering staff, bellmen. I stay in a lot of hotels and can say that this really made the stay. Food was great, room was great, etc. but the real item that you recall is the quality of the staff. I guess the fact it stands out so is that it is not so commonly found these days in such a consistent manner.

My wife and I stayed here for Lollapalooza 2012 for 4 nights. It is a great location for Grant Park--15 minute walk, safe, lots of restaurants and coffee shops close to hotel. The rooms are a bit small compared to other "luxury" hotels and the hotel is a bit dated. Nothing striking here. Just a good location with clean rooms and good bar. The restaurant is not great but not to worry because there are many restaurants in the area. Bar prices are reasonable. The staff are friendly. Easy to get cabs and good access to shopping, museums, and airports. Compared to other hotels in the area, this is a great options mostly because of the location. You can walk to Grant Park easily and get to and from Lolla during the festival easily. We have gone to Lolla for 6 years and have stayed in different hotels each time. This is a great choice.

I always enjoy jw hotels. the decor is usually exemplary and quality of products within the hotel rarely disappoint. The JW chicago is no exception. The lobby is quite grand and there is a wonderful scent they must pump into the lobby - love it. the rooms are spacious, bright, clean, and very nicely serviced. The location in the loop is great for business or pleasure as it is a quick el ride or cab ride to most anywhere. the only downside is ridiculous parking prices in the chicago loop. i would recommend parking in the lots to the west of the loop, across wacker drive, to try and save yourself $20 per night or so. the hotel rates are 55 for valet i think... all in all fabulous desk staff, service staff, quality of hotel, and location.

I stayed here for a business conference on 8.16 to 8.18,last week.el
This hotel is between 4 to 4.5 star.
It is spacious, modern and very clean.
My room was so large, it felt like a suite, with a long hall between the bed and bathroom.
The gym was large with modern equipment and very clean.
The staff were very gracious and helpful at all times.
The location is good for downtown business.

Business stay inside the Loop/financial district. This hotel was built about three years ago (converting a Burnham built bank). Easy walk to Millenium Park, museums, Michigan Ave, Willis Tower. Subway/L-trains a block or two away. Attentive personel, well appointed King room, especially the luxurious and spacious bath. Quiet rooms, no traffic noise. Florentine restaurant good for lunch, fast and friendly service, good food.

Room Tip: rooms "deep inside" the massive building have little to no cell phone reception
