Staying here with my family and this hotel has exceeded all expectations. Very clean, very nice, beds extremely comfortable. Staff excellent. Especially Alex at front desk and all if the exec lounge attendants.

Fitness room well equipped and also super clean.

Highly recommended.

Thank you, the leadership team of the JW Marriott Chicago lives for “exceeded all expectations”. We appreciate the recommendation and positive review, and while the physical aspects of our hotel may be key in defining luxury, it is our associates who deliver the product and experience and we could not be more proud of them.
We hope to see you again soon!

We stay at this hotel often and they never disappoint. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It has a boutique hotel feel because it is not massive like many other JW Marriotts. The staff is always over the top helpful. It is walking distance from the Bean and Michigan Avenue. Dress warm because the wind can make it frigid in winter months. Cabs are always available for those situations.

Very good to hear, while we hope our first impressions are lasting and memorable, to see we’ve been able to repeat the same level of comfort and hospitality is equally important. We appreciate your continued patronage, as well as the sharing of your impressions with fellow travelers, and hope to have you as a favored guest well into the future.

I went on a girls weekend with a couple of friends and wanted to surprise them with something special in the room when we checked in. I asked for a simple character drawing from a favorite movie of ours, and they went above and beyond in delivering this request! As we walked in the door of the room, a large minion (from Despicable Me) was hanging in the hallway, cutout to perfection with different colored construction paper. We couldn't believe they took all the time to make that, when they could have just printed out a picture.
Wonderful service and caring staff, beautiful rooms and lobby, and we loved trying the different flavors of the infused water each day!

Thank you for the amazing review, we’re delighted you had a memorable weekend.
The associate responsible for the added attention to your stay has been recognized by her peers and management. We are truly fortunate in having a staff of such high quality, even more so a team intent on delivering a level of hospitality unmatched in the Chicago market.
We look forward to having you stay with us again, and while it may be difficult to top a minion waiting in the room, I’m sure our reception team will try to find something unique to welcome your return.

Just got back from a week’s vacation in Chicago staying at the JW Marriott Chicago.

Excellent stay overall, not a cheap hotel but the room was great very big & comfortable. Very quiet too, not much traffic noise being on the 10th floor.

Good location right in the loop, enough bars & restaurants close by (walkable) so suited us fine but being the financial district, some closed early and weekends. We felt very safe walking back
even at night.

Spa, pool & gym looked very good although we didn't use them.

Being Marriott gold members, we used the executive lounge

Breakfast was very good (Maria was wonderful and a credit to the hotel) served until 10 – later at weekends

Dinner was just OK (closed Fri/Sat)
Our only complaint was that, although Gilberto was friendly and offered local recommendations, getting a top up of wine out of this guy was another thing…
After a couple of nights it became very obvious that the regular local business clients were treated very differently than the tourists. We always sat with empty glasses where
the regulars didn't even have to finish the glass before theirs were topped up (when we were, the amounts we were given were no where near the same). I went to ask for a top up on
a couple of occasions but it didn't seem to be appreciated. A few nights we gave up waiting and left after being served 2-3 “very small” glasses over a 2 hour period. We weren’t the only people to notice this going on and it happened every night so weren’t one-off’s either. Also there is only wine on offer (if they are so guarded about the wine if it’s expensive, maybe offer beer too?)

The room cost us almost $2500 to stay for the week ($350/night), we felt upset that we were not treated the same as everyone else and this is something that Marriott need to look at.
Our Gold card should be as good as everyone else’s and we have stayed at many Marriott’s around the world and this was the first time we have felt treated any different in any exec lounge anywhere.

For this reason, we would not stop at this particular Marriott again.

Thank you for the overall positive review and recommendations, we’re pleased to hear you had an enjoyable vacation and experience to one of America’s finest cities.
Your perceptions regarding service have been reviewed by the respective department leaders, our sincere regrets if you felt your treatment was substandard or different from any other guest. Our associates would have no predisposition in knowing the purpose of a stay, and Marriott prides itself in treating all persons equally and with the utmost respect. We hope on your next visit to the States you would return and give us a second chance, and should any aspect of your stay not meet your expectations that you would share your concerns with the manager on duty for immediate resolution.

Stayed at this hotel for a concert late this summer. Within walking distance from the train station and then we walked to Soldier Field (although that was a little farther away). Excellent service at the hotel. Hotel gave us a free pizza coupon for their very nice bar which we enjoyed with a cocktail before the concert. I would recommend for a weekend getaway.

Room Tip: Our room had a nice city view and it looked like most rooms had the same type of view. We looked ou...

Good location, beautiful rooms, great service. Rooms are clean. Valet parking is a little bit expensive $60 per night. However I definitely recommend it!

Restaurants are good. Walking distance to great places to eat.

Thank you for the positive review, as you’ve discovered our location has become very competitive with the Magnificent Mile. Chicago truly is a walkable city, and we’re still only minutes away by foot or by cab.
As with all of our colleagues, parking remains a premium in the city and does drive the cost, however we have an advantage in being the closest full service hotel to Union Station as well as commuter and public rail service. Perhaps on your next visit you will opt for the total Chicago experience and leave the driving to someone else so you may relax and completely immerse yourself in what our hotel offers. We look forward to your return.

First visit, for business and this is a fine hotel. Spacious and comfortable room, and a very large and impressive gym. The service was excellent and the lobby is a great place to meet people and/or hang out in the bar.
