I held a meeting at the JW Marriott in Chicago in April. Guest rooms are extremely large for Chicago standards, quiet and well-appointed. Bed was extremely comfortable and room had lovely, large bathroom. Service from staff throughout the hotel was exceptional...from the bell staff, front desk, to banquet services. Our three day meeting was well-received...what contributed to this was the attentive staff. Maria was one of our servers and she did an excellent job making sure our attendees were well taken care of. If you're considering a meeting in Chicago, definitely consider the JW Marriott. Brandy from Sales, Lisa Grover from meeting services and even David, the AV expert were a tremendous help.

Thank you. While it’s expected our associates at Reception receive the most guest comments, it’s with great delight when our equally outstanding associates on the sidelines are publicly recognized, especially by a Top Contributor to TripAdvisor.
Our Banquet, Culinary, and Audio Visual staff also takes great pride in the presentation and delivery of productive meetings and memorable social events. We have become well known for hosting events with meals crafted not unlike fine dining, then delivered professionally and attended to by the best catering team in the Chicago area.
Thank you again for the positive review, we hope this was the first of many events and/or stays we will be able to provide to you well into the future.

We have stayed at the hotel many times and we are never disappointed! The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the room rates are good (watch for the specials that include parking...makes the stay very affordable). The staff is top notch from the front desk, to the lounge, to the valet...everyone is helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Thank you! One challenge with our repeat guests is finding new and creative ways to continually exceed their expectations. Fortunately the physical aspects of the hotel speak for themselves, but it is our associates who continue to deliver unparalleled customer service and truly welcome the opportunity to take care of our guests again and again. Thank you for recognizing our staff in a public forum, for your positive recommendation, and for the complimentary review, very much appreciated.

This is a nice newish hotel around 3 years, the building us an impressive old bank. Rooms fresh and comfortable, corridors still fresh but the best thing about this hotel is the staff, most of the staff I encountered were very friendly and service minded, I actually felt they enjoyed their jobs, well done hotel management. The room service was a bit indifferent as is usual in the US but this is a nice hotel, you won't be disappointed.

Perfect, while we are proud of the physical aspects of our hotel, it is without doubt our associates who make us Chicago’s premier luxury hotel. For a Top Contributor to publicly recognize our outstanding staff is also rewarding, thank you. Management does critique all guest reviews, and of course we appreciate the positive ones, but we too are fortunate in that the staff is hospitality oriented and takes pride in this hotel on their own accord. We look forward to your return to the States and having you as our guest again well into the future.

Did not expect anything special when I checked in late Saturday evening, but what a great surprise awaited me at the end of the long walk through the corridor - A beautiful, newly and tastefully refurbished, spacious suite, perfectly quiet and well appointed.

Thank you! Sometimes the most rewarding perks are the ones which are least expected, and a 5 star review from a Top Contributor was our positive surprise today and we appreciate it. Can’t promise you a suite on every stay, but hopefully we will always be able to find a way to go above and beyond your expectations in the future. Thanks again, and look forward to accommodating you again soon.

We were in Chicago for one weekend and stayed at JW Marriott. Everything in this hotel met my expectations. If you are looking for an upscale hotel, you should consider JW Marriott. As for location, it is a little away from Water Tower.

Wow. Very appreciative of the high rating, and even more so since you are one of TripAdvisor’s Senior Contributors. Now that you’ve seen Water Tower and the Mag Mile, we hope the opportunity to return and explore the heart of Chicago will avail itself soon. Seriously though, while we do appreciate the positive review, knowing you and your family had a memorable stay means more to us than you will ever know. Thanks again.

Opened since 2010, this JW Marriott on Adams Street has a beautiful eye-catching lobby. It is a bit further away from the Lake Front than I would like and not directly on the Magnificent Mile but definitely a great find! Shopping is only a short cab away to the Magnificent Mile.

In sharp contrast to the trendy W across the street, this hotel is classic old school Chicago. The lounge is near the lobby entrance so it can appear a bit crowded at times when you walk in but the lobby is large enough to accomodage the numerous travellers. The front desk staff were extremely nice and there was a doorman all nigh regardless of the hour to help flag an early morning flight.

The meeting rooms are well sized, spacious, and well ventilated. One complaint is the wireles internet in the meeting room was extremely slow. I would suggest you bring your own portable modem if you have one available to avoid any frustration. However, the internet in the hotel room was excellent.

One other complaint was that despite my earlier request for a King size bed, this was not noted on my reservation as expected and they were unable to accomodate me when I checked in.

The gym was very good with numerous cardo machines and is open 24 hrs.

The room service also had excellent food with great service.

I would definitely consider staying here again.

Room Tip: Difficult to find a great view when in the Loop but do ask the front desk for a higher floor if poss...

Thank you, as the number of Top Contributors reviewing our hotel has steadily increased, we hope it’s a sign that the well-seasoned traveler such as yourself has discovered Chicago’s premier luxury hotel.
The JW Marriott was indeed designed to reflect the experience of entering the opulent lobby to a grand hotel of a bygone era, save for the fact the most modern conveniences of the 21st are also subtly incorporated into the guest rooms and public areas.
We appreciate the sharing of your experience with other travelers, your input is invaluable. And so you know, we do listen and respond to guest concerns. The internet service in all areas of the hotel was recently upgraded and I’m confident future visits internet connectivity will be a non-issue.
Until next time, safe travels, we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Okay just so you know I travel a lot around the world and I am not a hotel snob. This is a fine hotel. Rooms are large with comfortable beds. The bathroom is lovely with a large soaking tub. But overall if this wasn't a business trip no way would I personally spend this much for this hotel. It's worth $275 but not $529. But then again….supply/demand. It's fairly close to everything but always stay on Michigan Avenue. That's where all the action is.

Room Tip: ask for a room AWAY from the street.

Thank you for the positive review, and as a Top Contributor with so many reviews no doubt you have a fairly accurate pulse on the hotel industry. Yes, demand does generate rate, and our prime location in Chicago’s financial district undoubtedly works to our advantage, but fortunately Chicago’s weekends are also kind to the leisure traveler and more moderate rates can be found year round.
As for Michigan Avenue, definitely worth seeing, but we’re the only luxury hotel in the Loop, closest to Greektown and Restaurant Row’s renowned culinary delights. We’re also convenient to Grant Park, State Street, Art Institute, and the Museum Campus, so while the Mag Mile may be popular with the first time tourist, the true pulse of our great City can be found just outside our front door.
Thanks again for the generous ratings, and we will work on making the JW Marriott your preferred choice hotel when visiting Chicago.
