This was the perfect way to end a Chicago business trip. We had excellent Japanese food at a fusion restaurant near the pier then ran out of time so we took our entrees to go. My husband said the Smith museum closed at eight so we may as well turn back, but it never closed while we were there. We spent 45 minutes agog at the lovely, intricate glass. The two rooms of Tiffany demonstrate a clearly superior glass studio. The contrast between antique and modern was like a mini history microcosm. This was very enjoyable and free! At 9:30 we were able to see wonderful fireworks at the pier which few places are able to afford anymore. No wonder the pier is one of Chicago's most frequented attractions.
