Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows
Attraction details

This was the perfect way to end a Chicago business trip. We had excellent Japanese food at a fusion restaurant near the pier then ran out of time so we took our entrees to go. My husband said the Smith museum closed at eight so we may as well turn back, but it never closed while we were there. We spent 45 minutes agog at the lovely, intricate glass. The two rooms of Tiffany demonstrate a clearly superior glass studio. The contrast between antique and modern was like a mini history microcosm. This was very enjoyable and free! At 9:30 we were able to see wonderful fireworks at the pier which few places are able to afford anymore. No wonder the pier is one of Chicago's most frequented attractions.

This was such a nice museum. There were some amazing pieces in this collection! It was throughout the whole inside of the Navy Pier and it was scattered every where

A must see for lovers of history, architecture and stained glass windows! This collection is stunning! It's wonderful that they were saved form the wrecking ball!

I'm sure most of the people who visit this museum do it to kill some time while they wait for something else at Navy Pier. However, it's a pretty fun place to spend your time in and some of the stained glass is very beautiful! There's also not very many people, and has good air conditioning, which is always a plus. Plaques on the walls provide neat bits of history and information on how the different type of stained glass are made, and you'll walk away knowing a little bit more than you had before.
