“Great for a night out”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

EPIC is a great place to transition from dinner to drinks/dancing. The dinner was lovely. I had lobster stuffed pasta and it was to die for. The apple creme puffs for dessert were delicious as well. The only point for improvement is that there should be better communication between the hostess/waiters/busboys. Aside from that, everyone was pretty friendly though. The rooftop bar is beautiful with a great view of the city. We then transitioned to the bar and the music and ambiance was a lot of fun. A great place to have an all-inclusive evening.

Great Cuisine, Great Service, Huge Restaurant perfect for large or small party. Epic offers a variety of spaces from the large private dining areas to little corners where you can hide with your special someone. Very fun rooftop lounge with a cozy, intimate feel.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed 10 September 2013 via mobile

Went here for lunch with my boyfriend while visiting Chicago. Very cool inside, and upon chatting with the waiter we learned that this was just the lounge used for lunch, and there was a dining area upstairs as well as rooftop dining for dinner. The lunch was great, fair priced for the quality of food that you receive. I would much rather spend 12 dollars on a sandwich here than on some junky heavy saucy mess somewhere else. Checked out the dinner menu too, looked unique and tasty. Will be returning here for sure!

“Premium Rooftop Spot”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

I've only eaten here once about a year ago, but very recently I went to a cooking demo/class for BBQ on the rooftop. For $25 we had a wee lesson in cooking chicken, beef and fish (even a dessert) on the BBQ. We had generous samples of everything cooked and the punch-eske sangria flowed freely during our time. When we ate here a year ago, we ate in the main dining room and the food was very good.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed 19 August 2013

Epic Restaurant

I finally dined at Epic, and was somewhat disappointed. The layout is not at all conducive to dinner conversation – The nightclub is beneath the dining areas, and the staircase to the rooftop was clanging with shoe heals all night. The food was fine, as was the service by our waiter and service staff, but the constant checking by what I would gather were “bouncers” to see if we enjoyed each course, was frankly annoying.

The food: The Melon Salad was light and fresh. The Pork Belly was very well prepared. The Artichoke dish was average—they did not seem fresh! My money is on “out of a can.”

The main courses were at best average. The NY Strip was priced like a Chicago Steakhouse, which this was not. The Mushroom & Red Wine reduction overwhelmed the steak. Suggestion: Order it on the side. Finally, the Berkshire Pork Chop was a bit dry, and again overwhelmed by the cheese on top. Chef – sprinkle the cheese, don’t coat the Chop! The Hanger Steak was under-whelming and overpriced. We did not order dessert or even coffee. Enough said. I am unlikely to return.
