“Great food, service needs a little work”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2014 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

Visited Epic for my sister's 40 birthday party. There were about 10 of us at the table, so a bit of a challenge. Unfortunately, the server was in the weeds as he had our table along with several others and did not have any support from the manager. He did his best, but at the end of the night we looked back and dinner had taken about 4 hours. Despite the slow service, all the food that was brought out was delicious! Highlights include duck three ways, seared ahi tuna, rack of lamb and escolar. The restaurant has three levels, the first being a popular bar scene and the other two devoted to table service. Located in a busy part of Chicago with loads of other dinner and drink options for after dinner drinks.

“Rather disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014

We (two couples) had dinner at EPIC. Wait staff were fine. Atmosphere was upscale chic; background music was fine and not too loud. Food was average but expensive. Salads were fine and the beet/feta salad was large and should be shared. Entrees ranged from petite to adequate (my $31 scallops had exactly three large scallops on a weak bed of "pearl risotto"). Fish and shortribs were average. Desserts were OK but small (including tiny $12 tart). EPIC is OK if you're on the near northside but don't go out of you way.

“Nothing special”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2014

Went there for a Valentine's Day dinner with wife and friends.. The place looks OK, service is not bad but food is average at best.. There are other and better restaurants around, so spend your pennies wisely. Rack of lamb wasn't bad but at almost $40...... I would not go back..

“Best in Chicago!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 February 2014

I actually received a gift card for this restaurant so I knew I HAD to go:) My wife and I made a night of it. Upon entering, I was IMPRESSED. Very friendly staff and for what seemed like a 'high-end' restaurant, the ambiance and welcoming vibe was impressive. When seated and handed the wine menu, we were even more impressed. The server was well versed in the wines and specials as well. The menu was fabulous and well priced! I had a salmon dish that was recommended and it was simply the best fish I have had in a long time. My wife had the filet and she agreed... best food we have had in Chicago yet!. Too full for desert, of course, but the menu and recommendations for this almost made me consider making room!! Great place!!!

“Losing steam.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 December 2013 via mobile

Tried EPIC on a recommendation exactly a year ago. It was fantastic. This year so,so. We were not offered the 1/2 price off any bottle of wine as other tables were offered. Bought 4 glasses of wine at the regular price. Food was okay but lots of other Chicago restaurants are better and the Bourbon bread pudding was terrible. I'm a New Orleanian so I "GET" bread pudding. Ambiance is ok, if you like high ceilings, warehouse feel. I could eat in a barn if the food and value was great...EPIC, not so.
