Description: Established in 2010 Moe's Cantina is located in the River North area, just north of the Loop and the Main Branch of the Chicago River. It features Mexican fare with Spanish and South American influences, including mesquite-grilled skewers, sharable hot and cold plates such as tacos, flautas and Mexican sliders, and full-sized entrees including fajitas, paella and steamed mussels in a spicy white wine-tomato sauce. The cocktail menu has selections such as housemade sangria, handmade margaritas, premium tequilas, domestic and imported beers, and more. Inside are concrete bars and flooring, exposed brick walls, custom-made wrought iron chandeliers and open kitchens with mesquite-burning grills. Oversized retractable glass doors open for an alfresco vibe in the summer months and offers outdoor seating on a spacious sidewalk café. Easily accommodate large groups with booth seating and communal tables. Semi-private and private party options are available.

“Quick, Tasty, with a Rockin' Beat”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

Ok, so it's pretty much a fast, casual mexican-style restaurant that turns into a night club at 11:00 pm -- but the music rocks long before that. Food was more than adequate -- I had carne asada taquiza (make your own soft tacos). Small size, great flavour, a little messy -- but mexican food... My companion had tacos and he was happy with his choice. We did have some 'toasty' guests join us at our booth without an invite (it was lollapalooza wknd), but they bought us Fireball shooters, told us we were a cute couple, and went on their merry way -- no harm no foul.

“Dinner on a Saturday Night”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

we went there on a Saturday night. it wasn't too busy to start but picked up when we were leaving. Overall i will rate this a 4/5 for food and atmosphere - but the customer service was rotten and we dine out alot so i can tolerate some bad service but this was just plain rude - to the point i looked for a manager to share my thoughts but they were busy downstairs in the office. I think it was just our waitress as we observed other servers and they appeared very attentive. we had the fajitas and they were very tasty - so next time in town i will dine here again for the food and hopefully the service will be better

“Awesome drinks!”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

I've been here 3 times now. 2 were for b-days and 1 was for brunch. The drinks are amazing. Food was good. A bit pricey for Mexican but you are paying for the ambiance.

“Loud and Lively”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

Went to Moe's and had a number of different dishes. Loved the shrimp on the skewer and the small soft tacos. Service was excellent and the bar staff very friendly. Plenty of TV's for those who want to watch the games while eating.

“Very crowded, very loud, and was that Mexican food?”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

I dropped into Moe's with some coworkers on a recent trip to Chicago and we dropped into Moe's after work based on a recommendation. It was way too crowded and loud to hold any kind of meaningful conversation, and while my expectations for Mexican food in Chicago was pretty low the food still disappointed. All in all, it is a fine place to grab a drink with friends, but don't expect much conversation.
