Owner description: Take a step back in time to the Gilded Age with banker Samuel Nickerson's mansion. Explore all three floors of the museum and discover how the Nickerson family lived and socialized. Tours are an extra $5, but well worth it.

This was a great historic home. While you could enjoy it without a guided tour, I found the tour guides to be quite well-informed and the tour really enhanced the visit. They also have a teacher discount if you ask!

We spent a total of 3 and one half hours over two days visiting. While the manison itself is very worthy of visiting , the Tiffany lamp and glass exhibit was wonderful. It is a chance in a life time to see so much original Tiffany glass in one place. We took the audio tour which I recommend because it provides more information and allowed us to be in rooms alone and go at our own pace. The audio tour does provide valuable and insightfull information on the Tiffany glass.

Do not miss this!

We looked for a short Art/Architectural taste and this house provided it. Found lots of interesting designs and very knowledgable staff. I recommend this place if you have two hours to spare on an art adventure in downtown Chicago.

This museum is an historic home on the first floor and then an exhibit on the next floor. When we were there the exhibit was of Tiffany glass. Our tour guide was extremely informative.

This is a great time-travel opportunity. A beautiful Gilded Age mansion with an impressive collection of art work and Tiffany glass.
