“Great choice and location for race day!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2012

I stayed at the Conrad for one night before the Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon in July 22, 2012. The location is great, close to shops and restaurants. The next morning, we had only a 15 min walk to Grant Park, where the race started. The staff was great, on race day I forgot to get safety pins for my race bib (needed to pin bib to my shirt). I went to the front desk to see if they had safety pins, and the front desk manager was my hero. He had a small box of pins for me to get the four pins I needed. This saved me a ton of time in trying to find an open store at 6am in the morning or worrying about how to attach my race bib. We visited the Terrace Rooftop lounge the night before. It was a nice relaxing place to have a nightcap and chat with friends we met that evening.

Parking is expensive ($52 valet-overnight), but you have to remember you are downtown Chicago in a prime location. In staying there you need to calculate the cost of parking if you have a car. This way the total cost of the stay can be figured out a head of time, and you won't be shocked at the end of your stay. For a one night stay the cost was acceptable for us.

Room Tip: We had room facing Michigan Ave on the 9th floor, you could hear traffic and police cars driving on...

Probably our fourth visit to the Conrad. Customer service is excellent. Front attendant knows me by name.rooms and views are spectacular ... that is if you want to be in the heart of Chicago's Magnificent Mile. Tons of shopping, restaurants and especially crowds on the weekends. Great value, especially for location and premiere hotel. Will be back in two weeks for another meeting.

Our family of four (with a ten and twelve year old) really enjoyed this hotel. Very spacious, clean, and comfortable rooms. The room was large enough to easily accomodate a rollaway with ample room. The beds were very comfortable. The service was excellent - response time very quick. The location is VERY convenient, right on the magnificent mile. Very beautiful stretch of shops, and walking distance to Looking Glass Theatre (about six or so blocks North), Millenium Park (about 5 blocks South). The walk doesn't feel long because it is lined with beautiful shops and architecture on the way.

We (2 adults and 3 kids) stayed at the Conrad in two interconnecting rooms for 4 nights end June 2012. The hotel lobby is placed on the 5th. floor on the top of a shopping mall, with a wonderful terrace bar right adjacent to the lobby.

The rooms were very large compared to for example NYC standard, but not with an especially exciting decor compared to this being a costly flagship-hotel. However, a big plus for a large flat screen TV, including BOSE sound system with an Ipod-connector attached.

What makes the hotel special is probably the logistics. The Conrad is places right by Michigan Avenue, only 50-60 yards from the Chicago river and, thereby, with virtually no distance to most of Chicagos many "sights". Service was impeccable, and especially the helpfull concierge in the hotels "lower lobby", must be praised for assisting in bookings and restaurant choices.

We are at 4,5 "stars", but the placing of our rooms (facing directly into an officebuiling 30 feet away), compared to the price of the hotel, makes this an only "4 star review".

We have stayed at the Conrad Chicago at least 5 times over the past 4 years and have never been disappointed. The rooms are comfortably appointed and the staff (from all aspects) is always top notch. The location is perfect. Whether you are there for business or pleasure, this hotel makes your stay stress free.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2012

I brought my family to Chicago in June to celebrate a special occasion. We chose to stay at the Conrad because my husband and I are Hilton Honors members and we were able to use honors points for part of our stay. (There were 13 of us and I booked five rooms.)

After we checked in, I realized that the double bedded room I had thought would accommodate four people only contained double beds (not queens) and two of the occupants felt their bed would not be big enough for them. When I asked for an additional (sixth) room, I was told the hotel was completely booked but they would try to find us something. The front desk staff were just as nice as they could be and, after considerable computer searching and telephone calling, they did indeed manage to find us a lovely room with a king sized bed--and at a reasonable price! Of course, my guests were thrilled and so was I.

But the wonderful service didn't end there. We needed to eat dinner in the hotel one night but some of the members of my party had dietary restrictions that prevented them from eating the food in the hotel. I was obliged to order special kosher food for them from a deli in Skokie and have it delivered. I called ahead to the hotel and the restaurant staff arranged to have the deli delivery accepted and stored in their refrigerators (before we arrived). When it came time to have dinner, most of us ordered from the restaurant menu and the restaurant heated the packaged kosher food and delivered it to the table along with what the rest of us had ordered. It must have been a considerable incovenience for them but they were enormously accommodating and handled it beautifully.

As for the hotel itself, the rooms are large and comfortable and the bathrooms quite adequate. The hotel is very well located. It's about a five--10 minute walk to Michigan Avenue. The Navy Pier free shuttle stops just across the street. The hotel restaurant offers a modest but adequate breakfast selection. However, at $20--$25 per person, you might want to check out one of the nearby restaurants. There are tons of restaurants within easy walking distance. Chicago's well known Uno and Due pizza restaurants are only a couple of blocks away.

Everyone in my party had a wonderful time in Chicago and I feel the Conrad played a great part in our enjoyment. I would certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: If you want a view, you should probably request it. Also, this hotel has no swimming pool.

We stayed at the Conrad originally because we were able to get a very good deal on the room. However, it would be among my top choices in that city. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was very well located and the staff was very friendly and helpful. You can walk just about everywhere from there.
