We had an overall good experience while we stayed in W Hotel. We arrived early due to a red eye flight. Check-in wasn't until 3 pm, but Fatima from front desk was able to check us in right away when we got there. This was a relief as we were so tired and we needed to leave our belongings to start the day.

I suggest you contact their concierge to help you plan your trip to Chicago. I was in contact with Eden, the concierge, before our trip and she was very helpful. She gave out suggestions on places to go and restaurants to eat and definitely helped in planning and making reservations for our big group. When I met her at the hotel, she remembered me and was very warm and welcoming. She never failed to assure us that she is more than happy to help if we needed assistance.

You can describe the interior of W Hotel to be a mix or chic and modern with the elegance of classic architecture. The immediate entrance to the hotel is not so pretty...but wait until you get to their nicely decorated lobby. They have a second floor as well that was uninhabited. And since I was on a trip with friends, this was a good place for us to hangout. It was quiet and the lobby had fee wifi.

The rooms were small, in my opinion. They don't have a view given that the hotel is situated with other buildings in the middle of downtown. One flaw was that the bathroom door gets caught with the room's door...and so if the room door is opened, the bathroom door opens too. Their bathroom has sliding doors with no locks. Countless times that our washroom breaks were interrupted because of this.

The hotel has their own lounge but it needs a bit of updating. It needs more music to liven up the already dark mood. However, having their own lounge was a plus because you have the convenience of having a good drink with your friends while your room is only an elevator ride up. The Korean chicken wings were tasty!!

Great location as it is only a short walk to the Willis tower and a few blocks from State St, Michigan Ave, and The Bean. I would definitely go back!

Had a great stay at the W for a business trip. Location was convenient, accomodations were great. They went above and beyond when I left my wedding band in the room. I came back to find it after having checked out and it was no longer there. They looked everywhere and even went down to the laundry room, shaked out the sheets, and somehow found my ring. Saved me big time! Special shout out to Omar Pereda in security who led the efforts.

Stayed here for one night in October, very nice boutique type hotel was tastefully designed, and like all other W hotels had amazing bed and pillows! had a drink at the bar staff was over friendly and helpful. I did not use any amenities so cant leave a review on that.

Overall was a really nice hotel well designed and up to its rating.

Room Tip: ask for a view, as some rooms face other buildings.

We we were here for a wedding. Our room was on the fire escape so we looked out to a concrete roof with ladders. When we got in our room, the windows were all unlocked and the room was a bit cramped but had everything you would ever need, so that was nice. The location was perfect, we walked everywhere we went. The bar was a bit sleepy for a weekend, really no one was there but we didn't necessarily mind, I guess. It really isn't anything spectacular, but gets the job done and is well kept. They did a great job with the wedding, everything was pretty much perfect. Would go back for sure.

This place was nice and had a large comfortable room - they gave me a free upgrade. Be careful of the mini-bar if you partake, though - it's pricey. Bar is a bit pricey also, but hey, it's downtown Chicago - no place around here is cheap. Location is hard to beat if you're in town on a business trip. If you're here as a tourist, you might prefer something in River North or closer to the lake, but it's not far away from the sights either. Workout room looked nice although I didn't use it personally. I don't think they have a pool so for family trips the JW Marriott across the street might be a better choice. If you're just looking for a nice hotel to stay at while on business though, and don't care about swimming, this is worth checking out.

Room Tip: A room not facing the street would be quieter than one on the street.

I stayed here on business and chose it because it was a block away from the office I was visiting. The room was small and lacked storage space. The tv was in the wall above the desk. The bathroom was so small the toilet paper holder was beneath the sink and it wass a little bit larger than an airplane bathroom. The only thing I liked was the coffee.

We visited for the Rock n Roll Half Marathon and always stay at the W. Great location, beautiful lobby, and wonderful rooms. The staff is wonderful from the front desk to the Whatever/Whenever staff on the phone.

The hotel also has one of the best concierges in the business - Eden Bernal. Our stay was short, but Eden was able to book our cruise reservation, provide additional suggestions on attractions, and most importantly, get us lunch and dinner reservations at some of the most popular restaurants in the city. If you stay there - ask for Eden, she will take great care of you.

We always look forward to staying at the W in Chicago.

Room Tip: Ask for an inside room - much quieter
