We stayed only one night, the Vic Theatre is a block and a half away...which was perfect. Our room wasn't ready at 4:30 on a Saturday, it was about a half an hour wait...the room was nice, new furniture and new carpet...but the remodel, well...it's like your brother or father-in-law, with very little construction experience, had made an attempt...paint splatters and everything new seemed to be installed crooked...one the best parts was the honor bar, great prices and selection. The room faced the alley, the windows let in the breeze and the train came by every few minutes...it wasn't overly loud but it did shake the cabinet in the bathroom. It's an old hotel but in no way dirty or gross...it could be a really nice hotel, you know...if there weren't gaps in the drywall around an outlet cover...and if there were curtains on the windows, we covered one with the bedspread.

We had a great experience from the moment we walked in. The staff was very friendly, the room was comfortable and clean, the all day coffee service was a plus, the continental breakfast was just enough and the location was perfect as it is situated right in middle of many entertainment venues. The hotel is currently being renovated but we did not see any clutter or hear any noise from such. We look forward to staying here again.

Room Tip: The Belmont CTA station is right next to the hotel and even though our room faced the station, surprisingly, we heard very little train noise. The trains do not run all night and start around 6a on Sunday mornings.

Stayed one night in newly renovated rooms. Don't expect views, just a nice room reasonably priced in a great part of town. Lots of restaurants and bars in the area Clark's across the street is open 24 hours for eats. And you can't beat ann Sathers !! Staff was very nice, it's an old building but it's very classy looking. Rooms are on the small side but have all the comforts you need. A small fridge an iron hair dryer coffee in the lobby 24 hr an array of snacks available for purchase, flat screens and free wifi. I would stay again and recommend to others

I was skeptical about it being so close to the metro station, but that ended up being one of my favorite parts about it. It was a 30 second walk to the metro, which was super handy during these cold months. We could hardly hear any of the metro noise, even though our window faced it.

The room was one of the best rooms I've ever had for the price; it was clean and looked new. The staff was amazing and more than helpful, and the breakfast in the morning was perfect.

I would definitely stay here again, and I recommend this to anybody.

We picked City Suites Hotel because of it's proximity to the Theater Wit and it could not have worked out better. The room was very nice and for those with small children, the sleeper sofa would be a huge advantage. Breakfast was very nice and the ambiance was perfect. The Red Line is right next door but the noise from the train was not a problem at all for us - in fact my wife said it was like listening to the waves at the beach (OK, maybe that is going too far, but the noise was not an issue to us as it was for some others in reviews I have seen). Parking was 2 blocks away and unlimited in/out privileges for $22/day. Of course you can park on the street as well. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We will DEFINITELY return.

Room Tip: We were in room 424 and noise was not an issue from the train - that might be useful for others but the windows were well insulated so it is hard to believe it would be bad anywhere.
