We just returned from a 6 night stay at the Acme. Overall the hotel was great. We loved the decor and the music they had playing outside and in the elevators. We were allowed to check in at 10am which was great. Our room was 600 (city view queen) and it was perfect. On the 6th floor so it wasn't super high up, but high enough. We could see the Hancock Tower from our room which was pretty cool. You can hear sirens and traffic if you're on the city side, so make sure to expect that (you're staying in a major city, so..) Room was spotless and stayed that way the entire stay, housekeeping was great. The little chalkboards outside the room were funny and useful. Beds are comfy.
The bakery downstairs is convenient for a quick snack or coffee and the staff there was friendly. We went to the Berkshire downstairs twice during our stay and while the decor of the place is fantastic and the drinks are fantastic, the staff there were really "Meh." You couldn't joke around with the bartenders without getting a serious straight faced response and you couldn't leave the bar with your drink to go up to your room which I thought was weird. I even got yelled at for having my foot on the couch (I was sitting with one leg tucked under the other). Also, the hostess outside watched me almost slip and fall in a puddle of water in front of the elevator and just stood there. Even after I said "Someone should probably wipe that up," she just shrugged her shoulders.

The area of the hotel is great as well, many restaurants and bars nearby and the area definitely didn't seem as busy as the loop area but there were still people out until late at night. I never felt unsafe. The red line stop around the corner is super convenient and because the hotel is right next to the Weber Grill restauant, it always smelled like steak outside which was funny.

Overall, good hotel, definitely wouldn't hestitate to stay here again, but would take my bar business elsewhere. Hotel staff were awesome. :-)

We live in suburban Chicago, and were looking for a mini getaway for our 30th Anniversary. This place has a very fun vibe from the minute you walk in. Very focused on giving you a great experience. The only advice would be to use the SpotHero App to find less expensive parking. Parking at the garage next door was $39/night, and we paid $52 for two nights 500 feet away at Grand Parking. Be sure to check out the jacuzzi with the beach balls in the lower level. Fun.

Room Tip: Ask for a "room with a view" and you'll get a fun surprise.

The staff were super extra friendly. The hotel, fun and unique. We had a great time during our short stay. Loved the accommodations. Directions to local hot spots and restaurants came in handy. We didn't need the umbrella, but thanks for making one available to us while we were there. We will definitely see you again, the next time we're in Chicago!

My wife and I stayed at the ACME for a one-night staycation after seeing a Hotel Tonight deal for it. We were definitely impressed and would give the place 4.5 stars if possible.

First off our room was enormous (room 903 on the corner) with a big comfortable bed, nice washroom and shower and even a living room area which we were not expecting to have. The location is right in the heart of the Near North/River North area and our room had a nice view from the 9th floor. There were two flat-screen TVs, one in the bedroom and one in the living room area with a lot of ways to connect devices though you're going to need to bring a laptop/IPod if you want to take advantage of this. Maybe we didn't know what we were doing but we couldn't figure out a way to connect our cellphones or IPad to anything.

My only other complaint is the decor of the rooms. It's a little over the top and the logo for the hotel is pretty lame giving it not much curb appeal but that doesn't really matter. We would definitely recommend this place if you need a reasonably priced room around downtown.

Room Tip: Try to get one of the big corner rooms if possible and the higher your floor the better your view of...

Checked into City View room on 3rd floor tonight; not much of a view, but plenty of street noise. Definitely would prefer something with less street noise.

Room itself seems quite nice, so far. Will add more over the next couple of days.

Room Tip: Need something higher up or off the street if you prefer quiet

Very trendy, chic, stylish, hip. Rooms are spare, clean as can be, have everything you need. Staff is very connected, helpful. Coffee delivered to the door is free, a nice touch. The greatest neighborhood of the city id right out the front door. We loved it!

Don't be fooled by the minimal lobby and the somewhat overdone wearable store (with acme-branded stuff), the rooms in this hotel are very comfortable, bright and quite luxurious for the price. The bed was one of the best I've slept on in months (and I've stayed in at least 50 hotels since January, 2014) and the pillows were incredible (if you like plump down ones). The location cannot be beat - just across street from Eataly, and steps from the red line stop (grand), michigan avenue and river north.

Room Tip: ask for a north-facing, high-floor room to snag some views of the hanccok building
