“Cozy, warm and friendly!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2013

This retro chic boutique hotel was everything I was expecting and more. The staff were delightful and cheery. The coffee shop off the main lobby was a real treat, I loved that they had almond milk and not just soy for a dairy substitution. The rooftop patio was the place to be at night and can include a wait since they do not accept reservations. However, it is a great place to go even in the afternoon to enjoy the view and a few appetizers. The only thing that negatively impacted my stay aside from the single queen sized bed room being a wee bit too tiny, was the absence of a mirror outside of the bathroom in our hotel room. It made it difficult to get ready when one person was using the bathroom and the other had to wait in order to access the mirror inside, making for a cramped bathroom experience with two people getting ready in front of the only mirror. In some of the hotel room images I saw mirrors outside of the bathroom and am left wondering why ours was missing... strange. That aside, I had a great stay at Hotel Lincoln and would definitely recommend this hotel to others and stay there the next time I am in Chicago! (I will just make sure to get a larger room and one with a more than one mirror)

Green Features: The coffee shop cup and lids and the toiletry products provided in the hotel room were environmentally friendly. Love that hotels and food services are jumping on board and helping to minimize our waste impact.

First of all, staff members were insanely sweet and friendly, a special shout-out to Glen, who is a master of great service. The rooms might be on the smaller side, but who goes to Chicago to stay in the room the entire time? Fantastic location and everything is nearby! The lobby is very charming with an terrific coffee shop connected to it. The park right across from the hotel with the zoo located inside was such a treat! Make sure to take a look at the Polar Bear which I have named Bun. He is such a doll! I can't express enough how lovely this hotel is. Please go and enjoy. Say hello to Glen from me.

Room Tip: If it is possible to upgrade to a suite, I would take it!

The fun begins the moment you enter the lobby, to great color, surprising decor, and charming reception staff. Hats off to Glenn, one of the warmest, most genuine hoteliers I have ever come across. The location, on a summer weekend, cannot be beat -- across the street from the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Green City Farmers Market...and you can borrow a bike (with funky bike helmet) to explore the city. Room and amenities were good; bed a pleasure. And the view from the roof top bar is magical. Glad to have this new hotel on the scene.

Room Tip: Suites have many different configurations; ask to see different options if there are availabilities.

I stumbled upon this hotel while trying to book a long weekend around concert dates at the United Center. There was a 3 night minimum enforce throughout the city and our Jr. Suite was $400/night= VERY expensive for a quick weekend. However, the Hotel Lincoln is a lovely boutique hotel with trendy decor, friendly staff and in a perfect location for young professionals, couples of all ages or families, yet it still felt extremely overpriced at that rate for what the room and hotel amenities (or lack of) offered. It's right across from all Lincoln Park and the Lake Front has to offer, and just steps from transit stops making it easy to get to Magnificent Mile, Wrigley field or museums.

There is no pool or free shuttle service--when I asked the front desk staff about options for car service, I was told to download an app for how to call a car service or cab for hire. The guy never offered to do it himself! The building and rooms are charming and trendy, however there was wear on the carpets and some places on the walls and ceilings that seemed to be lack of maintenance rather than just character of the older building. We were also pleasantly surprised that our Jr. Suite had 2 full bathrooms, which would be great for families or traveling with friends. Also, the air A/C in room has a decorative blind over it, which inhibits the air flow throughout the room, leaving it feeling stuffy most of the trip.

Overall, this is a gem in Lincoln Park that is close to lots of outdoor activities around the park and lake front. It has eclectic decor, and a friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again, but not for $400! The functional issues with decor (A/C cover; wear of carpets) in the room and lack of pool can be overlooked as the positives far outweigh the let down of the expected quality based on price alone. If you want a nice respite from the bustle of downtown, definitely choose Hotel Lincoln.

Gregg and Sarah at the front desk were wonderful when we checked in, quick to provide assistance and explain what the area offered.

Room Tip: Jr. Suites have 2 full bathrooms.

Was tipped off to this hotel by a family member, and very glad that I was. First, you can't beat the location across the street from Lincoln Park. My wife and I more typically stay in the loop or River North so I forgot how great the park is. They have a farmer's market on Saturday in the park that is right across the street from the hotel. Also very close to Old Town. The service was top of the line but not stuffy. Very friendly. The room was solid including a very comfortable bed.The hotel has a rooftop bar with great views. The restaurant on the main level looked fantastic, but we had already made dining reservations elsewhere. Next time for sure. This was an anniversary trip for my wife and me, but it would be a great place for a family to stay as well.

Mid-Century American kitsch, well done. The staff are friendly. Rooms small, though nice. You absolutely must enjoy the roof after-hours.
Brunch in the first-floor restaurant was excellent.
The only thing I would say is, house-keeping gets going well before checkout (noon); hallway and adjacent noise do carry at this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms higher and on south east side would be best (view of lake and city). Try to get 12th floor.

Agree with previous reviews. Cute and with it. Staff to the very last cleaning person is the friendliest and most helpful I have ever experienced. The rooms are comfortable, the beds are a delight to sleep on. Has a rooftop bar with great views. Good coffee in Elaine's. A pleasure to stay there.
