“Great Location-Great Staff”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

Weekend visit for my niece to check out the city for potential job location. The location is right across the street from Lincoln Park, the lake and the Zoo. Easy bus travel to other areas of the city. Our suite was large and easily accommodated 3 of us. King bed and sofa bed, nice size writing desk, 2 comfortable chairs, coffee table, flat screen TV and walk in closet. Although the room was booked for 3, it was initially only supplied with cups, glasses, & towels for two. That was quickly corrected when requested. A single serve coffee maker is in the room and real ceramic mugs, not styrofoam. Free WiFi is available.
I think some opportunity for greater conveniences were missed, however. The suite is plenty large enough to accommodate at least a mini fridge if not a microwave also. The closet has two shelves with one hanger pole. Hooks could easily be added under the other shelf where there is wasted space. There was only one hook in the bathroom (aside from the towel pole inside the shower) making hanging wet towels for three a little tricky. I always travel with Over-the-door plastic hangers just in case, but there are no regular doors in the room to use them on.
None of these incidentals would keep me from staying here in the future.
The staff was terrific. Coming from out of town, We were able to check in before regular check in, as soon as our room was ready. They graciously and securely stored our luggage after check out but before we needed to leave for the airport. The attached restaurant with bar as well as the rooftop deck made for very convenient wining and dining when we just wanted to be "close to home"

Room Tip: Room 815 is a Junior Suite, corner room with great views that looks out to the lake and Lincoln Park...

Our family really enjoyed our stay. Location was nice with the zoo right across the street. The hotel was dog friendly. We did not bring our own but will consider it next time. Staff was friendly and rooms were fun and clean. The rooftop bar was a plus.

From the time the valet parked our car to the time we checked out, we were greated with smiling faces. The whole staff was friendly and helpful. Very clean hotel and close to good food. We were also able to enjoy the Lincoln Park Zoo.

Our experience was very pleasant, the staff was warm and inviting. Each person was engaging and made you feel at home. We especially enjoyed the roof top bar, the view was incredible and staff amazing. Another point of interest was the coffee bar in th the lounge. You can tell that the staff truly enjoy their work, each person was helpful.

I had my eye on Hotel Lincoln for a while. I used to work for a Joie de Vivre hotel after I moved to Scottsdale, AZ and was delighted to hear they had a property in Chicago. Working in a hotel, specifically one managed by the same company as Hotel Lincoln, I know what the guest experience is supposed to be like. Not only did Hotel Lincoln deliver phenomenal customer service, but the property and accommodations speak for themselves. I'd like to point out that I no longer work for JDV/Commune or any hotel, so I'm in no way being biased, if anything I'm being even more critical. I was very surprised to see some of the very few negative reviews on this hotel. It's CHICAGO. The rooms are not going to be huge. It's also on the lakefront in one of the most central and affluent neighborhoods in the entire city! You have Lincoln Park Zoo (which is free) across the street, you're minutes from amazing restaurants, shopping, downtown, North Avenue Beach and plenty of CTA bus and "L
stops. You really couldn't ask for more. If you really need the space, book one of the suites. I had the privilege of booking a Junior Suite and it far exceeded my expectations as far as square footage and overall comfort and decor is concerned. They gave me a complimentary upgrade facing the lake and that took it to another level. I was born and raised in Chicago, so staying in a hotel and getting the visitor perspective and experience was a special treat for me as it's not something I normally do. Hotel Lincoln did a great job embracing the history and culture of the fantastic neighborhood it's bones were set in. I'm proud to say it absolutely represents Chicago in a beautiful way. And Chicago happens to be one of the most beautiful and amazing cities in the entire world. Well done! Special thanks to Glenn and the other adorable gentleman overseeing the front desk, who's name I can't remember, for a wonderful experience :)

Room Tip: If you travel a lot, consider joining the JDV (joie de vivre) membership program. It's free and...

My wife and I were visiting friends in Chicago. We stayed at the Hotel Lincoln in a Junior Suite. It was an excellent hotel with first class service and top notch amenities. The hotel is really interesting with a great vibe. The room was clean, nicely appointed with a cool design. The hotel staff was beyond accommodating and was absolutely professional. The roof-top bar, J. Parker, was a great choice for snacks and drinks when we checked in on Friday night. The view is very impressive, I guarantee you will not get a similar view in Chicago unless you know someone with a penthouse apartment, in Lincoln Park, facing the Zoo/Lake Michigan. And you don't.

The location is what makes this a great choice to our only choice. It is great to be away from the touristy feel of Michigan Ave. You are close to all the amazing restaurants and shops of Lincoln Park, and Old Town is perhaps the best neighborhood in the city. You are also a quick trip down to Rush St and Michigan Ave for shopping, but you dont have to deal with all the crappy tourists and overpriced chain restaurants that flood that area.

A great choice in a great location, highly recommended.

Room Tip: Go for a junior suite if you can manage, their standard rooms are on the smaller side.

We were delighted to stay 2 nights at this hotel. The room decor was fabulous. Both restaurants on the first floor were great for breakfast and dinner. The valet and front desk staff were all wonderfully friendly, polite and efficient. We had reserved a king-bed on a travel sight, but then 3 of us ended up traveling. The front desk staff were very pleasant about exchanging it for a room with 2 double beds. The hotel was within walking distance to other great restaurants, close to a beautiful park setting and cabs were easily accessible.
