“Great neighborhood theater”
Reviewed 6 May 2014 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

This theater has become a great place to go for the smaller companies to present their work. Their subscription program is different from all the other theaters. For one price you can go to as many productions during a month as you wish. Interesting theater. Always.

“Santaland Diaries - Fantastic!”
Reviewed 7 January 2014

I went with my family (all adults) to see this one man show. Mitchell admits upfront that he is not David Sedaris, duh, but he performs Santaland Diaries to make David proud. There are a few references to Chicago and he uses the audience for some added humor, but the story is basically that of Mr. Sedaris. It was a lot of fun and definitely a lot of laughs!

Apparently he has been performing this play for 5 years now. Make sure you add it to your calendar for November/December 2014!!

The theater is small, but comfortable. There is a fair amount of leg room between rows, but not great.

“Burning Bluebeard at Wit Theater”
Reviewed 2 January 2014

I saw this play which ends Sunday, January 5th, a few nights ago and was really surprised that this small theater could put on such an unusual, historical and fascinating play. It was about the burning of the Iroquois Theater tragedy from the viewpoint of and told buy the actors and actress who died in the fire. It caught my attention immediately when I walked into the room and it was filled with smoke and smelled like something burnt.

“Nora Dunn out does herself!”
Reviewed 22 October 2013 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

This one woman show at Theatre Wit was entertaining, witty, poignant , and right on the mark with today's events! Loved Nora and enjoyed the Qand A with Designer Peach Carr after the show as well. Intimate theatre at its best!

“"The Last Five Years" -- closing August 25, 2013”
Reviewed 11 August 2013

The building began life as a post office, went through a couple of creative reincarnations, and is now a completely renovated theater complex. The play we saw was the brilliant, two-character musical, "The Last Five Years." It runs 90 minutes without an intermission, as two sides of the same intense storiy intersect on stage. Try to see this powerful play before it closes.
