“Great hotel, gorgeous building, fine staff”

Great hotel, somewhat overdesigned, set in a Mies van der Rohe building on the river. Rooms are well designed and luxurious. Would recommend this hotel over the Four Seasons, Peninsula, or Ritz Carlton. Very pleased to have discovered this hotel, and look forward to returning -- but not looking forward to the bill!

Did a weekend in Chitown, staying at the Langham. The room was spectacular; most amazing combination of modern amenities with a retro feel. Like the PT Cruiser, only much cooler. Seems silly, but the shower/bathtub was behind a plate glass window from the bedroom, so you could see directly into it. Touch a button...the entire thing goes opaque. And the entire room was rigged out that way. And yet, it had the hardwood and tile floors and plush carpeting and feel of an old-world hotel. Loved it. The restaurant was fantastic... the bread pudding french toast was to die for. Dinners were equally spectacular. The only think I would diss a bit is the wine list... it's all super boutique wines you've never heard of. Not the the wine that our waiter picked out was bad... it was very good... but it would be nice if there were a few things you could actually pick out yourself. Bar was great too... made a basil-lime martini off the menu perfectly. My girlfriend likes coconut water... I think they ran out to get some, even though it wasn't on the menu. Great place for a romantic getaway.

Just finished my second stay at this lovely hotel. Circumstances allowing I would not stay anywhere else when visiting Chicago. The room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully furnished. Food excellent. Staff friendly, efficient and polite without ever becoming cheesy! Nothing I would change so thank you and I look forward to seeing you again soon!

Husband was in town for business- so I had the weekend for my pleasure! I enjoyed the spa incredibly- was completely wowed by the service! Do NOT miss the dream room- it's incredible. It's the personal service that keeps us coming back time after time.

The little details- the staff celebrating my birthday with a card and chocolates- makes it feel personal. OH! Do NOT forgo the room service- at 1130pm we wanted cookies with milk and OH MY did they deliver.

This hotel with the service and personal touches continually beats out the rest of the 5 star hotels- and we've stayed at them all. When you're at the Langham- you're royalty.

Fantastic location, luxury rooms, great food, and the staff must be the best of the best. They were always smiling and went out of their way to provide exceptional service. It is a luxury hotel and you do get what you pay for!

Starting from the warm welcome, to the service, the room, the services, the minibar (!), all is perfect. more than expected, really. The hotel is just in front of a known 5star competitor where I staid 2 years ago, but no match in terms of flair. Room looking onto the river, 9th floor, great view also. money well spent.

Excellent hotel in the middle of everything. I slept there for 4 nights and i can say staff was perfect, bar excellent and the room and bathroom was big. I can say a luxury hotel. Just the bed was not so good with a big hill in the middle. For sure the staff could arrange a change but was not so terrible afterall. I suggest this hotel 100%!!!
