Pizza the way they make it in Italy. The ingredients and all the food is the freshest and best quality. My girlfriend and I went in on a whim once and now we're regulars. Wood burning oven, attentive wait staff, you won't want to miss this.

Pizza was too salty and undercooked . The bruschetta was delicious . Concentrate more on pizzas and they could be better

Wood-fired oven pizza and classic pastas are as good as it gets. Appetizers and salads are large enough to share. Pastas come in half orders on request, even though this is not noted on the menu, which would be enough for light eaters. Prices are fair for food of this quality. Can be rather noisy on Sundays, when many neighborhood families with small children eat here. Best on weekday evenings.

Don't be put off by the plain Jane exterior of this sweet little spot on Lawrence Avenue in Chicago - there's not much there to indicate the great food inside. I have eaten at Pizza D.O.C. (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) on a couple of occasions and was very pleased both times. The service is very good, and there's somebody to greet you at the door (if hostess isn't right there then bartender hollers over).
The selection of pies toppings is not vast, but there are plenty of authentic Italian selections and a number of great combination pies. The Quattro Stagioni (four seasons) with prosciutto, mushrooms, olives and artichokes is my favorite, although I miss the egg in the middle signifying the sun that I have had in other places. The beer and wine selection is OK but not extensive in my book. These pizzas are comparable to most of the ones that I have eaten in Italy during trips there.
It's always a good idea to call ahead for reservations they can be quite busy.
Enjoy!
