This restaurant was highly recommended by the concierge at the Peninsula Hotel. What a disappointment. Crowded, noisy, our table was near the bathroom. Our waitress seemed to be brand new and had no idea how to describe the food, offer suggestions, etc. Asked if a bottle of wine was good she had to ask the bartender.
My salmon was burned to a crisp, literally. Sent it back, the next portion was cooked basicly the same and was quite small.
There is nothing positive to say about this very under average place. Very disappointing. Perhaps they reserve the main room and experienced waitstaff for local Chicago residents?
A word of interest- my wife described her $19.00 angel hair with marinara (which was over-cooked spaghetti) as "chef boy-ardee"!

Recommended by family and our concierge - it's not Jersey Italian to say the least - wine prices off the charts and cannot bring myself to spend 3x the cost of having the same wine back at our hotel or better yet - home!

Our Concierge also recommended this place after saying we would not be able to get into our first and second choice restaurants. It was a bad sign when we arrived at 6:30 to a nearly empty restaurant, only to be seated right next to the only other couple in the place. So much for a romantic dinner. The wine prices are robbery, but the kicker was that when we orderd the special salad of the night, and were told that the beets were still roasting...at 6:30. We had to ask for bread when the 4 top seated after us was brought some promptly, and while pondering the menu we ordered an appetizer, to find later the waiter did not put the order in cause he thought we were still waiting to hear if the beet salad would be done soon. The food was not worth the prices. We would not go there again, and will not take the recomendation of concieres, but take our chances on showing up at a place of our choosing and even sit at the bar.

Concierge recommended nouveau Italian Restaurant which underperformed. Annoyingly overpriced wine list, unavailable selections and improperly chilled white wines ruined an otherwise unremarkable experience. Service was testy. Small space with brightly lit back room that was distracting. We won't return. There are many better options!

My food was quite good but one of my party had to send theirs back but we were not charged for it or the replacement. The wine was a bit overpriced but we enjoyed the evening. Nice atmosphere and location.
