Morton steaks are the best. The service in this restaurant was a little bit too relaxed but ok. Surpisingly, it was not full in the Tuesday night.

Had to spit half of it out because it was tough and full of tendons and fat - ribeye. Had better steaks at Texas Roadhouse and don't have to spend a small fortune.

So, this is the ORIGINAL Mortons, founded in 1978. Sinatra and those of his ilk were common guests, and the GM (Rachi, perhaps misspelled and pronounced Rocky) and waiters are quick to regale you in tales of the old days there. You feel like upper crust the minute you walk in, and it lasts until you ascend the steps leading out (yes, it's downstairs). Old photos line the walls, and the bar was robust with after work drinkers when we were there.

Everything on the menu is mouthwatering. We opted for a combo grill: 6 oz filet Mignon with 3 large shrimp and 2 bacon wrapped scallops. We had no business adding on extras; garlic mashed potatoes (YUMMMM) and spinach marinated with mushrooms, but we did. And the wine I chose, $115 Malbec, the GM talked me out of in favor of a Malbec he knew to be better, for half the price; that's how cool these guys are at the original Mortons. We had so much fun, so much food, and a Morton's Coffee to finish up (a must!!). Amazing, a word I reserve for only very special subjects! Cheers!
