Was here for my Birthday. The staff was very friendly. Enjoyed the nice size room and the free wifi and the bed was very comfortable. Was very glad to be close to the mag mile because it was very cold out and the short walk wasn't all that bad. The pool was a little small but my girlfriend love it because she was able to swim in the winter. The exercise room was well kept and working.

Hotel is located 4 blocks from the subway. You can take the train directly from the airport using the blue line then transfer to the red line at Jackson station and get off at Grand/state station. Free wifi. Walking distance to nearby restaurants and shops.

Booked room for two nights via groupon for my birthday weekend.  We were in the room total of thirty minutes when we found out toliet bowl was stopped up and was threatening to run over.  We call front desk and engineer was sent to room.  After assessing the toliet he determines that it needs a couple of parts changed and asked if we had plans for the evening.  We say yes, to which he replies I will come back to fix it when you leave out for evening.  We ask if it's ok to use toliet to which he replies it should be for now.  This did not sound promising so we called front desk to request to be moved to new room.  We were told no, because they were supposedly sold out.
  After we return from my birthday party in early morning hours,  we enter room to find water all over the bathroom floor, rug soaking wet right outside bathroom door, and all the previously clean towels had been used on floor to presumably soak up water (they were left behind all over bathroom floor)!  I call front desk at 2:00am and ask for housekeeping service to be sent up. They send guy to replace the towels and to mop the bathroom but he said he could do nothing about wet carpet. I called front desk and request call from manager the next day at 10:00am.

When my husbands wakes next morning before 10:00am and goes to restroom, he steps on rug outside bathroom without shoes and the rug is soaking wet and toilet water has again pooled all over bathroom floor! I call desk and demand new room and compensation for disastrous hotel stay to which I'm told they couldn't provide new room until after housekeeping started and that since I got room through groupon she could not compensate me for bad experience. I asked for a manager and was told he was off until Tuesday. 

We waited 3 hours before new room to become available.  In the new room the television did not work. It took the engineer an hour before he fixed the television. I was not happy with my birthday weekend stay at this hotel!!!!

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!!!

Visited this hotel in January of 2014. The lobby was full of activity and lines moved at a decent pace. We checked in and were given a room on the 7th floor. Nothing special, definitely what you pay for. Two beds, a TV, bathroom and mini fridge. The beds were quite small, but were again, what you paid for. The sheets were white, but had many scuff marks and were a bit tattered on the edges. We stayed on a Saturday night, mid winter. There weren't many events going on in the immediate area and was quite cold for shopping on the Mile. So we choose to visit the pool. What appeared to be once be a nice pool and Jacuzzi area had been reduced to a pool. The Jacuzzi was permanently closed. The pool was a decent temperature but we quickly left. The water was not clear and there was feces floating in many areas. We were the only ones in the pool area and now I see why. Parking was $50/night.

An average visit at most. Will make better choices on our next visit.

Greeted with a smile. Extremely efficient check in. Staff scurry to take your bags. Some of the best customer service I've received ever. Room modern, pleasant, perfect. Meeting rooms perfect. Starbucks in the lobby. Nice reasonably priced restaurant on ground floor. Fireplace in lobby lounge. Perfect for cooler weather. It is on the magnificent mile where everything is walking distance. Forget New York, I love Chicago. A cleaner classier NYC. Don't think twice about staying here. Not as big as the others but twice the service and smiles.

This hotel is ideally located for our annual visit to Chicago. Just about everything is within walking distance including great restaurants. You are only a block off Michigan Avenue. Parking is easy access and climate controlled. Ask for rooms on the South side- the West side rooms are smaller and quite a hike. The attached bagel place is excellent for breakfast.

This hotel has everything you need for a great value! You can not beat the location or value, but if you are high maintenance, you may want to stay somewhere else. I'd def go back in comparison to other hotels in this area. Don't use the stairs, you may get locked in..
