After reading many of the recent reviews for this hotel, I booked a king-bed room for this past weekend. Thank you for posting your reviews; I would not have taken a chance on this hotel if it hadn't been for all the positive feedback. And the reviewers were absolutely correct - the Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago is great, and I'd certainly recommend it to other travelers. Very quiet hallways, efficient, well-decorated room and nice little buffet in the lobby - perfect for our needs.

My husband and I poured over hundreds of reviews of so many hotels, and were really nervous because even the most expensive hotels had some horrible reviews but this place's 'bad reviews' didn't seem that bad so we booked a 9 night stay here for a little get away, which we DO NOT REGRET! AWESOME HOTEL!

First, the customer service is outstanding. Super friendly and accommodating. Our luggage was lost, and they made sure it was delivered to our room timely when it arrived. Every time we shared an elevator with an employee, they were sooo nice, and the cleaning staff were friendly too!

Second, the rooms are lovely and VERY CLEAN. The rooms are super spacious for a city hotel, in fact we were surprised by it.

Third, there is a free continental breakfast which is a lot nicer than most of the ones I've seen in my day.

Fourth, perfect location. Safe, quiet but access to everything.

Some people in the reviews were moaning and groaning b/c the community areas are small and the decor has dark colors and the rooms don't have enough lights. What a bunch of babies - who wants to hang out in the community areas? Get out in the city or relax in your home. Yes, the breakfast area gets crowded but that is small price to pay.

As for the decor, our room was brown and orange, personally I loved the colors. It was NOT gothic as others said. It had a nice, clean look to it overall. PLENTY of lamps to light up the whole room. Are you performing surgery in your room? No? Then I think the light provided will suffice!

If I had to complain about anything it would be the price of the valet service - $42 per night at the time of this review BUT you get free in/out privileges, which none of the other garages allowed which we liked b/c it was soooo cold this time of year. So it worked for us but if you are only taking the car out 1 x per day there are garages up the street for about $15 less per night.

We would definitely go back in a heart beat. Great job!

I traveled here with my family (husband, two children) for a quick getaway and sightseeing. The hotel location is perfect, especially if you are going to the theatre. We walked to the Cadillac Palace Theatre--about 5 or 6 blocks at the most. Also an easy walk to the Art Institute and many restaurants. The Berghoff and the Italian Village are both just one block away.

Rooms were an adequate size for four. Each floor is quite small --probably less than 10 rooms. Street noise is definitely an issue, but I imagine that's the case with any hotel in the area.

Just stayed here for a sports weekend with my dad (Go BEARS!). The hotel is in the Loop in the theater district south of the river. It's a stones throw from Michigan Ave, around 4 blocks from the Institute of Art and about 2 blocks from the Marshall Fields flagship. The Adams/Wabash metro station is 1.5 blocks away ($2.25 fare from Midway takes about 20-25 min).

The hotel has been recently renovated and was very clean. Lobby is small but offers a business center with two internet PC's and printer free of charge for hotel guests. A large breakfast is served in the lobby including cereals, breads, eggs, bacon/sausage, home made waffles and beverages.

The rooms are large and well appointed for a business class hotel. Design is contemporary and bathroom includes granite/marble appointments, premium bath products and an excellent shower. The room also includes a large LCD television. The only downside is that the room was a little dark and could have used more lightening.

I was able to shop around and secure a rate of $92/night for two queens. Having stayed in Chicago many times, I will definitely be back to this hotel. It's a great value and the Loop location means it's not directly in the Mag Mile hustle but still close enough for that Chicago experience. BTW - Would recommend Miller's Pub for drinks/dinner, directly across the Adams/Wabash station! See my review.

Stayed for 2 nights at this hotel in downtown Chicago to visit the Art Institute of Chicago museum. Very convenient location - we could walk to the museum easily in a few minutes although it was a bit chilly and snowy. We all liked the interesting architecture of the hotel and rooms. Breakfast was the usual Hampton hot and cold foods, and was fine. Room design was more interesting than the usual hotel decor, and we enjoyed it. Staff were helpful when needed. The one drawback is the high price of parking, which is available via valet service ($42/day+tips). There do not seem to be other good parking options, especially with cold and wet weather. This is probably true for all downtown experiences, but it should be kept in mind when pricing the trip. Overall, our family had a great time and will use this hotel again when we visit downtown Chicago for concerts or museums.

Hampton Inns are known for clean rooms, low prices, and big breakfasts.

This place is also *very* romantic. The rooms have this red decor that makes you want to snuggle up with your honey, and not go outdoors. Very clean, and very pleasant to stay in. I was with my boyfriend and we were very pleased that this wasn't just a budget hotel, but like a boutique romantic hotel.

The staff was very polite and efficient. There were cookies in the afternoon, a pretty decent gym. Also a great location next to the blue line and red line. The blue line is a straight shot from O'hare and you can also take it to Union Station (or a $5 taxi). You can't beat the price; would totally go here again.

We loved our stay at the Hampton Inn Majestic! We caught the train at O'Hare and stepped off the train on the corner outside the hotel. This property is in a historic building adjacent to the Bank of America Theater. Total convenience for a attending a show. The rooms were furnished in a retro theme with dark red walls and deco styled furniture befitting the theater district location. From this area we walked to Millenium Park, the Chicago Art Institute, and the Field Museum. The hotel provides a complimentary expanded continental breakfast which got each day off to a good start. It's a busy property, but the rooms are solid and quiet and ours provided a great view of the city action. This Hampton Inn is truly Majestic!
