Stayed here for a convention or otherwise would not have been able to afford it. Single room was over $200 plus an additional $50 a day in taxes. The hotel location is great, across the street from Grants Park and near Soldier Field. Near the El and other public transit stations. Move walking and biking trails along Lake Michigan which is two blocks away. Room was very clean and well maintained. Great maid service. Hotel restaurant has good food and big breakfast buffet. Ask for room with large view to watch the sum come up over the lake but be aware that means noise from Michigan street which is a busy main arterial with buses and emergency vehicles. Nice gym and pool on site. They had a live piano player at night s. Check out the fountain in grants park which shoots up on the hour for quite a display.

Enjoyed having a room with two bathrooms! Amust when sharing a room at a conference. The location was a couple of blocks away from Lake Michigan and all the major sights...Art Institute, Millenium Park, the Bean, Grant Park, Soldier Field, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum and within walking distance of many restaurants.

Stayed here September 27th, 2013 with family. We loved it. Our room was on the 24th floor & we could see Lake Michigan although we were not in a Lakeview room. I did have a roll away bed brought in the room & it was like a box spring. Was very disappointed in it. Outside of that we loved our stay & would go back. Thank you George for all your help!

Room Tip: 2474 is a great room.

Located on the South Loop on Chicago's trendy Michigan Avenue, the Chicago Hilton offers elegance in a bustling setting. If you seen "The Fugitive" with Tommy Lee Jones, you will recognize the Grand Ballroom and other areas of the hotel. Even as a Diamond Platinum I did not score a Lake Michigan view room, but was at a convention so all the big wigs probably got those coveted rooms. My room was roomy and nice, but the bathroom vanity was very small, even though there was open space in the bathroom. The Executive Lounge has a great view but again, not as well stocked as Marriott's Concierge Lounge. The check in clerk was very helpful and I found the staff very accommodating in all areas. It is in reasonable walking distance to a CTA ":L" loop station.

Room Tip: If you can get above the eight floor, try and get a waterfront view room, otherwise you'll be looking at other wings of the hotel or adjacent buildings.

We arrived well before check in time, but the reception were able to find a prepared room after we took a coffee break in the lounge.
Our room was on a front corner and had windows both facing towards Navy Pier as well as the lake. This allowed us a lovely view of the illuminated Buckingham Fountain later in the evening.
The room was slightly tired and the bathroom even more so but the facilities were adequate.
Arriving back at the hotel later, the entrance leads into the ballroom lobby with a piano on the half landing which was being played discreetly with a wonderful ambiance from the sound echo-ing around the enormous space of the lobby and the ballroom.
Check out was easy and there was a queue of taxi's at the door even when I looked out at 6.30am. No delay getting to the airport that morning (it was Labor Day so the city roads were almost empty after breakfast.
The hotel was relatively close to the Loop and also Millenium Park and the lake itself.
