Really enjoyed our stay for our son's hockey tourney. Very nice place.. great location. Service was very acceptable. We were upgraded because of number of kids, they did not charge us! very classy. Close to everything. If your staying in Chicago, I would stay here again. Shopping close, good food, everything close by. Enjoyed it. Price is very reasonable for location.

This hotel was very beautiful and clean. The in room coffee was also delicious. Beds were very comfortable and room was quiet. The bar, Irish Pub, and convenient store made the hotel more appealing. My only complaint was some minor details that were overlooked, but the moment I brought it up to management they corrected it. Overall great hotel!

We booked the Just Chillin package in an Executive Level room. Package included self-parking, mugs w/coffee or hot chocolate with refills in the Snax (snack bar), 20%off rest & room-service, wifi . We checked in (staff very friendly). We asked for a renovated room, as other reviews suggested to do, and was told the executive level rooms aren't renovated. The put us on a lower floor(13) and the room was nice with TWO small bathrooms. The room had a frig but no water/mini bar as we were supposed to get with executive level room we paid for. We were give separate keys to get up to the executive level. Got to the room and called down to ask how the 20% off worked! they said they had me on a different package and I would need to come down to show them my confirmation to prove we had the Just Chillin package. We did and they changed it on their end. And they will figure out the 20%off when we check out. They couldn't find any mugs and said they would send them up ASAP. The next day got a message we could pick them up at the front desk.

We always try to book a hotel with an executive/club level. I would rate the lounge a 2 out of 5. The continental breakfast similar to a cheap hotel. Cereal, toast, a couple cut up melons, hard boiled eggs, cranberry muffins and a couple cheap, mass-produced pastries and oatmeal.
The evening snacks from 5-7 mini egg rolls and wontons. Cookies. Make sure you get there before 7 or it's all wrapped up and gone. And the lounge closed by 9.
Probably wouldn't pay for the executive level again. Most executive hotels we stayed at have 24 hour key access to lounge, which is great if you want a soda, coffee or use a computer or printer.
.
Never got our in room coffee supplies refreshed, had to call housekeeping and ask. They then left a bag of coffee supplies on the bed.
Overall the staff was great and room was comfortable. The rooms are large. The 2 bathrooms are nice to have. Wish they would put 2 queens instead if 2 doubles. If you're in chicago to shop, this hotel is far south from the mag mile.

Stayed here because I was speaking at a conference at this hotel & thought it would be convenient. Big mistake.

First issue: came down to breakfast this morning & was told no breakfast buffet, because the hotel is only running at 13% occupancy. As if that's my fault. Why couldn't they cook less food, but still offer the buffet? So I had to order off the menu, wait a long time for the food to arrive, and pay more than the buffet would have cost. I raised hell with the manager, she discounted my bill by 50% & offered me a free breakfast tomorrow. But I'm traveling on business, this doesn't help me at all, and Hilton management is too stupid to understand that. They could have offered me HHonors points which would have benefitted me, but no, they offered a discount & free breakfast the next day, which was a useless compensation as far as I'm concerned.

Second issue: this evening, tried to put some things in the safe and discovered the safe deadbolt was in the locked position, so the safe couldn't be closed. Called guest services & was told it would be fixed immediately. Three hours later when I returned to the room, it wasn't fixed at all. So once again I had to raise hell with management, & was offered a $50 voucher for the cocktail lounge, which again, my company and shareholders appreciate, but does NOTHING to compensate me.

No wonder the hotel was running at 13% occupancy last night. Service is non-existent and management is incompetent.

Avoid at all cost!

Tired of glitzy fakery of new ritz hotels? The Hilton Hotel on Michigan Avenue, Chicago provides the real thing at reasonable cost in the Loop. You'll stroll down the grand staircases, marvel at the chandeliers, peek into gilt trimmed ballrooms that are the settings for historic events of the past and present. The newly refurbished bar and seating on the first floor makes you want to stay in for the evening, or you may want to spend the night in your room watching the sky over the lake go from blue to pink as the Ferris Wheel glints on Navy Pier. If doormen, nice restaurants, friendly staff, and lavish hallways and huge pool are your idea of a good overnight, stay at the Hilton, Michigan Avenue. Time after time, we've had a terrific overnight.

If you haven't been to Chicago you must place it on your next visit to the United States.
The Hilton in Chicago is overlooking Lake Michigan and close to the cultural sites as well.
Rooms overlooking the lake would be the best to have. Service was excellent and staff a joy to deal with.

Room Tip: Views of the lake.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights for my Birthday weekend. This hotel is conveniently located too all transportation services. The walk to the CTA Subway is about 5 minutes.

The room was clean, comfortable and everything was taken care of for us each day. The building is old so the furnace is noisy and squeaks a bit on the 22nd floor. This kept me up a few times in the middle of the night.

The Starbucks Coffee at the Snack Cafe was good and they have a wonderful variety of snacks and foods - including healthy foods at reasonable prices.

Nice hotel but nothing amazing to keep us from returning other than favorable pricing.

Room Tip: Suites on 22nd Floor have noisy furnace in hallways.
