We stayed here to attend a conference but it wasn't a location I would have picked otherwise. Our room was comfortable, but didn't get cleaned until after 2pm, which was inconvenient. My main complaint is that wi-Fi was an additional charge. This is 2013, free wi-Fi is every where, and for the price of the room it just seems petty that it's not included.

Hotel was nice. We booked on a week notice for a 2 night night stay in June and was hard to find any good prices for hotels in downtown Chicago so we tried this hotel after reading the reviews. It was still expensive but cheaper than most downtown hotels and the parking was cheaper than downtown. They have a shuttle that leaves every half hour (until about 10 or 10:30pm) and will drop you off up to a mile away. We had them drop of us a couple times at the blue line subway. We also walked to/from the blue line subway several times. It was about a 10 to 15 minute walk. We took that line to downtown Chicago all 3 days we were there and it worked really slick. The blue line had about 4 more stops to get to the main part of downtown. The pink line was even a closer walk but we didn't try that one as we were told to try the blue line. Rooms were nice and comfortable. We didn't pay the overpriced parking to do valet at the hotel for $35 but parked at the hospital across the street...$13.50 for 24 hours. We looked at hotels downtown and they were usually around $50/day for parking, so this was a good part of the reason for our pick at this hotel. We felt safe walking around this area too. We had dinner in Greektown, a mile or two away from the hotel before checking in. Little Italy is also suppose to be close. Chicago has a lot to see and wish we would of had more time and not such a long drive that took up a lot of our 3 day visit!

Pros: Close to two subway stops and near the interstate so it was easy to find. Close enough to downtown to get around easy without driving downtown.

Cons: Cheaper breakfast options. Free or cheaper wireless internet in the rooms.

Room Tip: This isn't a high rise hotel, but of the few floors, the higher floor you get is better as the a...

We stayed here for business. Well appointed, clean, and friendly hotel. Good location for public transportation (Pink and Blue CTA), or $10 cab downtown. 1/4 mile walk to Taylor Street with a variety of local restaurants. Morning buffet ($17) includes omelette bar, full breakfast, cereals, and fruit.

It's interesting. I do like staying at a Marriott Courtyard hotel; tends to be worth the price. However, staying at the pricey Marriott is really not worth it. Oh, it's pretty and most of their staff are excellent at customer service however I am not really seeing what I am getting for $200/night?! It's interesting - I can stay at a LaQuinta Inn, free breakfast and free wireless internet access. Stay at the Marriott for $200/night and you pay extra for both.

For this visit? A/C very noisey; it was fixed but then it never cooled down. I am very glad there are wheelchair accessible rooms however it would be great to have hooks on bathroom doors (for clothes) at both heights.

Room Tip: Room 416 is a double room as it is accessble for wheel chairs. However, very little furniture - fel...

We stayed here last night after the Eagles Concert at the United Center. Our check in was pleasant and fast, front desk personnel were polite & knowledgeable. The hotel offered a complimentary shuttle service to and from the United Center with a nine passenger van. The van runs every 10-15 minutes and took us directly to our destination. After the event the van brought us back to the hotel. We had planned on taking a cab to our venue which was about 1.1 miles from the hotel, what a pleasant surprise to be offered this amenity. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that may be in town for an event at The United Center or UIC Pavillion.

I stayed here for a night on a 2 day trip to Chicago. The hotel is located in a nice, leafy neighborhood of Chicago at the UIC. It is around 3 miles from the downtown- 10 mins or less in a cab!

Liked the rooms' interior, esp the bathrooms. The rooms are well sized and it is real value for money/points without being too far from the downtown. Overall, a good, solid property!

The front desk and the support staff are very supportive and always ready to help.

I enjoyed free internet and breakfast because of my status; however the breakfast spread wasn't anything to write home about. So does not make sense to pay up for that. Just my 2 cents!

For those who require wheelchair accessible rooms, you will find this Marriott a very good option. The bathroom size was excellent but the room was somewhat hard to manoeuvre as the furniture is quite bulky and did not provide much room for turnaround.

Also, this Marriott has a wheelchair accessible van (brand new) and will drive visitors within a 1-mile radius which includes UIC, Rush, John Stroger (Cook County) and to Little Italy and Greek town - they also pick up!

Restaurant food was excellent and very generous
