My husband and I booked to stay at the Hyatt Regency for seven nights in July. It was part business (conference in the hotel), part pleasure.

Upon arrival the check-in lady politely told us that the hotel was overbooked that night. She could still give us our room but gave us the option of having the first night free staying at a local hotel (Allegra) and moving back to the Hyatt the following day. We decided to do this as it saved us a chunk of money and although it was a slight inconvenience we were happy with it overall.

When we arrived the next day we were given and upgraded, deluxe, room and it was lovely. We were on the 27th floor of the west tower with views of the river and lake which was great. The bed was AMAZINGLY comfortable although having sheets instead of a duvet cover was slightly annoying. The room was very clean.
Also, the only other downside was the slightly noisy aircon but we got used to it after a while.

All of the staff we met were incredibly polite and we don't really have any other faults to mention.

We would definitely go back and would recommend it to friends,

We stayed at the hyatt for one night in July 2011. The hotel is very nice and is located within a 5-10 minute walk to Navy Pier. The beds were very comfortable and the views from the hotel are great also. We will stay here again when we come to chicago next.

Went on Priceline and got a great rate for this hotel. I even knew the name of it before we booked it! Got free breakfast which was awesome! ($22.50 usually!!!) Rooms were nice, location was great..Only drawback was .no pool and internet was way to high priced for "us little people" w/out a business expense account! All in all, glad we stayed there!

We stay in the downtown section of Chicago a few times each year at different places and locations. The Hyatt Regency has one of the best locations for shopping, theater, museums or just cruising the streets. It had some mixed reviews but the more recent ones were very positive. All the rooms have been recently renovated or updated. We were able to check in early and actually see two shows on the same day." Nogalar" at the Goodman and " Ethan Fromm" at the Looking Glass theater both walking distances. We are going back in August for more plays.

Stayed at this hotel for a large conference being held by my employer. This is a very large and busy conference hotel. The location is great and the hotel has great views of the Chicago River. It appears to be within walking distance of major activities although due to the oppressive heat in Chicago the week I was there I did not venture too far from the hotel. I had a room with a king size bed. The room was very spacious and nicely furnished. As I indicated this is a very large hotel and there were about 1200 people at the conference I attended. Needless to say, this caused a few minor challenges. For example, I arrived at the hotel at about 5:30 pm and my room wasn't ready. Apparently this was the case for numerous other folks who arrived later in the afternoon. Fortunately my wait for the room was not that long (about 20 minutes). The elevators were also a problem. When the conference broke for breaks, etc. you ended up with hundreds of people trying to access the elevators at the same time. My room was in the West Tower on the 11th floor ( there were 36 floors in total). Unfortunately, the elevators are not separated in groups by floors like you would normally see in other high rises. As a result the wait for an elevator as well as the rides up and down could be long at times. All of the staff I encountered were very pleasant and friendly. The hotel has a very nice fitness center and there are a couple of restaurants onsite although I didn't eat at any of them. All in all I was pretty satisfied with my stay and I would probably stay at this hotel again should the opportunity arise.

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Chi over 4th of July weekend. It was very nice inside and modern. The location is great and centrally located in the loop if you plan on staying in and exploring downtown Chi. We were able to walk to most places. It is a less than 5 min walk to Millenium Park. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and nice.

Okay- so the conference I attended at the Hyatt had our meetings spaces a bit disjunct, but the service was great. And the hotel sponsored a reception and the food is wonderful! Everybody was helpful and friendly. The location is great. We had a view of the Chicago river from our room! Room was clean, nicely decorated, beds comfy. Stayed before at the Marriott and would definitely come back to the Hyatt.
