We were able to check in early which was a plus. Our room had stained carpet, no view, and a squeaky bed. The location was really good. We walked to oak street beach, Shaw's, Lou malnatai's, Navy Pier and the el at State. If you are driving and want to save some money, park at the millennium garage on Columbus. It is half the price and about a 3 block walk. Stay in the right lane as you pull in the garage. Go to the Randolph parking area. Go up the escalator and stairs. You should be on Randolph street. The hotel is about 3 blocks to the left and in front of you. The hotel does not have a pool. We noticed the Radisson out our window had a pool and walking track.

The best part about this hotel is the location. I looked at a lot of hotels before booking this one and for the price, the location is great. The hotel was centrally located to all of the attractions we visited. It is within walking distance to Millennium Park, the Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier and we even walked to Willis Tower. Our 2 queen room was the perfect size for our family with 2 small children but wasn't anything fancy. One thing that bothered me about the room was that we booked it for 2 adults and 2 children and only had 3 bath towels in our room throughout our stay. The hotel is very large but we found the staff to be friendly. We stayed in the West tower and didn't experience any of the elevator wait time issues mentioned in some of the other reviews. My only regret was paying for valet parking when there were two public parking ramps very close to the hotel. Overall we had a great experience at the Hyatt.

A very large hotel a short walk from Michigan Avenue (shops, boat trips, loop 'L' trains at Lake or Wabash). About an hour from O'Hare by train and foot. Plenty of restaurants nearby. The lobby is huge, very noisy and a bit characterless, although the mezzanine bar is stylish. Nice welcoming staff. Lifts were very busy at peak times. I had a large corner room with large bathroom and sitting area. The room was clean and decently decorated, though not well lit. Air conditioning was effective. The bed was comfortable. No tea/coffee making facilities (although I was told that these are normally included). Good wifi signal (up to 6 devices) for $9.95 per day. The buffet breakfast at $26.95 is OK, with freshly cooked omelettes, but better selection and value is to be had nearby. A good choice for tourists.3.5 stars.

Hotel was nice, centrally located to downtown and most attractions. Walking was our choice of travel as we felt we could see the most of Chicago! We were so right! Love Chicago, our room had a very nice view of the river! ONLY complaint would have been the room location, we were on the top floor (36th) and right behind the elevator shaft of six elevators! Very noisy day & night.... we were gone most of the day so it wasn't such an issue as it was at night... Was very glad I had brought along my ear plugs or I would not have slept much....

Room Tip: We had a room right behind the elevator shaft, very noisy all day & night long.... Should replac...

I really enjoyed my stay here. They said I was in a "female experience" room, and I'm still not sure what that means, but everything did very luxurious and it was one of the best night's sleep I've ever gotten (why don't all hotels have blackout curtains). Front desk was incredibly courteous and everything from check-in to check out was very convenient.

We just returned from Chicago and stayed at the Hyatt. The hotel was centrally located to all of the tourist attractions. The room was great, spacious enough for four adults...keep in mind we used the room to sleep and shower. Yes, the hotel is large and the wait for an elevator was longer than expected, but plan accordingly and you will be fine. The Market was well stocked and prices reflect the convenience you are paying for. We would stay here again if the price was right. We booked this for $150/per night plus all of the applicable taxes.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 31st floor and had a great north east city view

Stayed here with another couple for our anniversaries. Great time and no glitches. Rooms 1901 and 1625 were very nice. 1625 much nicer with better view and king size bed. 1901 small and queen. Decent view. Was told these rooms were supposed to be more expensive for the view but they were nice enough to comp them to us at no charge. Would have been irritated paying more for what should be no extra cost if available. Courteous check in and quick check out. Needed a few extra incidentals and they were accommodating. Overall happy with our experience.
