“Modern and Convenient”
Reviewed 12 August 2011

We upgraded to a larger room, which was very contemporary and nicely decorated - with views of both the Lake and the River. Beds were comfortable and there was a separate tub and shower. Larger room comes with concierge level access - breakfast choices were very nice and I like having coffee, water, soft drinks and snacks available all day long.
The location was good - in the past I always stayed on No.Michigan Ave, but this was nice, too - and it was about a 10 minute walk to the Miracle Mile. Also a short walk to the pier for the Architectural Boat tour - which was our favorite part of this trip.
Housekeeping never replenished the shampoo, conditioner, etc. - but it didn't really matter since I didn't like them anyway.
I would definitely stay here again.

Great property well located. Rooms over looking Chicago River are best. Will become my hotel of choice in Chicago

Room Tip: request room over looking Chicago River

I stayed here in July 2011 for three days while on business for a week in IL. My partner flew in to join me for the last three days and we had a wonderful time. I had booked a King room but because I was a platimum member with Marriott I was upgraded to the to the concierge level and given a room that I can only describe as jaw dropping. It was a corner King and must have easily been two or three times the size of a regular King room. Double sinks in bathroom with separate tub and shower. The service in the hotel is really really good. Room service arrived quick and was piping hot, parking valet was quicker than I expected for a city hotel given it's size. The breakfast was great and plentiful. The staff helpful to a fault. I am usually very critical and particular about hotels because I travel so much for work and i like things a certain way and I was a little taken aback that I could not find anything to pick on. I will without doubt stay here on my next trip back to Chicago.

Really loved the Hotel and its design. The special ordering of amenities was not good and check out was not very timely but the stay overall was fun due to friends attending the same wedding as we were. Tried to book a third night for the same rate as the first two but they could only offer $279 vs. a $189 rate. Too bad, would stay again if they offered a better deal.

Great spot right in the middle of the city. Easy cab ride anywhere and access to public transportation right near by. Best view of the city looking down the river towards the Tribune and Wrigley buildings. Pay the extra $ for that view! It's like looking at a postcard out your window.

I am a frequent business traveler, so the things that are important are that my room is cleaned, I have easy internet access and of course a decent bar atmosphere for after a long day. Having said that, my first day it was very hot and humid in chicago, so I went back to my room to change shirts, the room had not been cleaned by 3:00 pm, ouch! Internet access was easy and no problem there. The bartenders were great, but it's a bit of an uncomfortable bar, definitely not a loungy type place where you can meet clients etc. Lastly my dealings w the front desk when I was checking, very curt and not friendly. It's a nice property but for what my expense is going to be a bit underwhelming...

What an outstanding trip. Friendly service, beautiful view, great room, close to mass transit. A fantastic place to stay when you come to Chicago! Lobby offers free computers to print boarding passes, business center and restaurant on site. What more could you ask for.
