“Great location...rooms need updating”

The Drake is a classic hotel. The public areas are well done and classy. The guest rooms could use a refresh as they start to show the hotels age. Everything is clean - no worries there. It's just some of the bathroom fixtures are dated and the rooms soft goods could be modernized while paying respect to the legacy that is the Drake.

Great service in the pub... menu is perfect for a light or late bite. Staff is very attentive. Can't be the location at all!

The Drake Hotel is not for those who want ultra-modern. This is a classic, older hotel that is updated, clean, classy and priceless. We enjoyed a fantastic experience last week in Chicago and The Drake Hotel made it that much better. Fantastic food, people, bar scene.

The hotel is an upscale swanky style place. It is a great place for a special trip with a significant other. The hotel's location is great if you wish to stay near the lake side. The hotel was a fair walk from many of the downtown restaurants - but there is no problem getting a taxi. The hotel is pretty much at the end of the magnificent mile so shopping is in easy access.

Room Tip: ask to get a lake-view rooom

This is a very nice hotel in my opinion. It has it all: a great location on the magnificent mile, great lake views and the rooms very plenty spacious. If you are going to be in downtown Chicago it is definitely worth a visit. I would gladly stay again next time I visit.

Room Tip: I would suggest a higher floor with a room facing the lake. Its really a nice view!!!

I was there for a weekend conference. We utilized not only the rooms, but some of the meeting rooms, restaurant, Gold Coast room, food, and bar areas. Everything was fantastic! Can not think of a single thing to comment negatively about. Rooms were very comfy and clean, food was spectacular, meeting rooms were comfortable and well set up, front desk staff, concierge, and bellman were polite and helpful. I would return again.

Stayed there for the first time and was a very positive experience. 1940's theme very classy. Some of the elevators even have a sofa! My room was fully updated with modern technology (flat screen LCD TV's, flawless wireless connection). Conveniently located to Michigan Ave. and Navy Pier and major shopping.

Very close to the water which has a great bike/running path. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. Staff were very friendly. Bed was very comfortable. I got a lake view room which was beautiful, although my friends stayed in a regular room which seemed very small. Overall, a good place to stay.
