Stayed at the Talbot on the way to Green Bay to watch a Packers Game. Our experience was wonderful, service, accommodations, and amenities were all first cabin. The location was perfect for exploring the heart of the city. I used the athletic club pass both days and it was excellent!!

Two blocks from upper Michigan Ave and Oak St. and within walking distance of the River North Galleries, the Talbott is ideally located for that orgiastic shopping weekend in central Chicago. (Museum lovers may want to locate further south since the major museums are south of the river.) The Talbott is relatively small, cozy with not one but two fireplaces in a very clubby lounge area adjacent to the front entrance (Perfect for drinks while watching the natives shivering past outside the windows.
Rooms are comfortable and spotless with HBO on the TV and free wifi. The staff are very helpful. For example, we made our reservation through a discount internet site. We enjoyed our stay so much that we asked to extend a day.The desk clerk said to check the rates on the internet and they would match it. It saved us over $50.

Room Tip: Make you reservation through HotelClub or a similar site. It will save you a considerable amount. Pa...

Spent our Thanksgiving weekend at The Talbott. Enjoyed having a drink by the fireplace - the smell was so inviting! The bed was cozy and the environment clean. Our shower was leaking to the floor below so we were moved to a larger room. Judy was very helpful and apologetic for the minor inconvenience. We found all the staff and doormen to be very helpful and friendly. A special shout-out to Dwayne. He was always there with a smile and a fun comment. We have stayed in other hotels with better views of the city, but we enjoyed the quiet nights away from lots of traffic.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights and everything was excellent. Staff very courteous and helpful. Rooms were excellent (larger than most). Price was very good also. Will definitely stay again. Only problem was breakfast on the morning we were leaving. Doubled charged us on credit card. when I called they almost fixed it but added another breakfast (now triple charges). finally got it worked out.

Just spent a nice night at The Talbott after getting a great price through TA. The location was perfect; just around the corner from a public parking garage ($40 for 24 hours --ouch, but what can you do?), and a couple short blocks to Boul Mich. The staff was extremely friendly, and even let us check into our room hours ahead of schedule. The room was spacious and the mattress very comfortable. Not much of a view from our windows, but we didn't pick this hotel for the view. The bathroom was fine and having two sinks helped greatly. We'll definitely try to come back here again. If you are looking for a nice place to stay while visiting this part of Chicago, look no further.

We stayed at the Talbott hotel in October. Our room was clean and spacious and the amenities were lovely. The bed was very comfortable and the linens of good quality.
Most importantly the staff were outstanding. In particular there was Dwayne. He was so very friendly and helpful. He had a wonderful sense of humour and was very approachable while maintaining the proprieties of his profession. It was an honour to make his acquaintance.
The concierge, Cathy had an unbelievable wealth of knowledge for her city. Her in depth recitation of the history of Chicago and its surroundings was very impressive. We look forward to meeting her again and staying at your wonderful hotel and enjoying the friendly chats by the fireside with the staff t the Talbott.

My husband and I stayed at the Talbott last month and as always, it was excellent. We've been staying at this very clean and friendly hotel for the past 3 or so years, unless our large Retriever is along when we must stay elsewhere (hint to management....allow large, friendly, dogs!).

We've stayed in just about every type of room, with the exception of the double, and have found consistency in cleanliness, quality, and service. With each stay, we've found the valet and doormen to be some of the friendliest and most accommodating. During our stay last month, we were given a discount parking voucher, which we greatly appreciated.

We'd originally chose the Talbott for the quiet location on the edge of the Gold Coast. It's close to everything many would want (such as Michigan Avenue), though we ourselves prefer this area for where it is--Gold Coast and not far at all from Lincoln Park shopping. The hotel's location also makes for good sleeping, for the streets are nearly bare at night. I will note that one winter there was a harsh snow-storm and we were staying on the top floor, so we could hear the harsh winds and something up on the roof making an awfully loud noise. For that, I've been requesting that the hotel not put us on the very top floor. Other than that, I can't think of any negative incidents or sights of uncleanliness in our years of staying in this lovely and friendly hotel. Now....if they'll welcome my large dog, we'll be set!

See you again next month, Talbott, and Happy Thanksgiving.
